Well final episode of Voyager aired tonight, and unfortunatly it was a little disappointing. The last episodes of TNG & DS9 were pretty good, but this one I don't know, maybe my expectations were to high. Anyways, i think they've left it open for a movie, which is a good thing.

With the current Actor's/Writers strike, the realese date for the next Star Trek movie still hasn't been decided. It may be in the winter or spring of 2002 or it may end up being the fall of 2002. Other news on the new movie, it will include the Romulans as a big part behind the villian that will be one for the history books. So far they call him the Kahn of the next generation. A director has yet to be appointed, but some have suggested that LeVar Buton direct since he has directed several episodes from Voyager & TNG.
In other news, TNN has bought the cable rights to Star Trek: TNG, DS9, Voyager and the first five movies, for an estimated cost of $364 million. They are due to begin airing in the fall of this year with TNG, in 2004 with DS9 and 2006 with Voyager, the films will begin to air in 2001.
In other news about the next Star Trek series, Rick Berman has denied many of the rumors out there, including the one saying its gonna be pre-federation or the birth of it. He says he doesn't even want to think of that one. In the article I read, he didn't mention the idea of a Star Fleet Academy crew, (otherwise baywatch in space), but I have heard that idea has been turned down as well. In my opionin, if they did a "baywatch" in space, Star Trek would die. It has also been mentioned that the new series may not have Star Trek in the title. Rick Bermen said the new series will be more dramatic then previous series, but it will keep Gene's dream intact.
