spell_effect = This spell was quite a hit on AD&D.com back in the day. The day being sometime last oh, January. This spell causes a creature from the negative enrgy plane to be summoned to the prime material for a short duration. The creature is stunningly beautiful and incredible to behold. It is dark, wispy and graceful, appearing black, blue or purple and has the substance and moves of a flame in the wind. Once summoned, the creature begins to dance. The creature is so beautiful and the dance so mesmerizing that it causes any to view it, excpet for the caster, to stare at it transfixed for 1 rnd per 4 cstr lvls. During this time the effected creatures seek to get within at least 50' of the creature, using their fastest from of transportation within the duration of the spell. As the creature dances it syphons off the life energies of all onlookers within that 50' diameter. It temporarily steals 1 lvl/4 levels of the castr. This condition last for 1 hour for every two cstr levels. (Hah hah, faked you out, bet you thought it was going to be evry 4 lvls of the cstr) After the dance, which lasts the entire duration of the spell, the dark dancer returns to the plane of whence it came. All creatures may then act normally. All those who were effected feel drained, quite chilled and oddly weakened, they are unaware of their current condition. The maximum duration of the dance is 9 rounds. While danceing the creature is working it's magic, and any creature gets attacked while it's feeding off of it's energies causes the Dancer to loose concentaration and abrubtly loose it's concentration and restore it's victims and ergies and returns to it's home plane. During the dance the caster must maintain concentration, allowing the gap within the negative material plane to stay open long enough for it to do it's dance. The material component if an open flame, the essence of a wraith and an obsidian gem worth 1,000 gold, all are consumed during the casting.
