All About Me!Hello and welcome to the section of my page devoted to me. I figured since no one who visits my site has any idea of who I am, it was about time to let people know! :)
My name is Melissa Harris; Lissenna (pronounced Lisseena) is a name I made up for AD&D and as a nick. I wanted something elvenish and cool, but also having something to do with me so I used my nickname (Lissa) and expanded it a little bit.
I live in Nova Scotia, Canada; in a small town called Yarmouth. We get a lot of tourists here from the USA via The Cat, Scotia Princess and the Bluenose. Its a nice town, quiet and peaceful. But like most Canadian towns/cities/whatever we still know how to party! :)
I am currently 19 years old (well until Remembrance Day and then I'll be 20! :) I just love having a holiday for a birthday, no school :) I have just completed my first year of college (Graduated June 22nd, 1999). Right now I'm enrolled in a course called Computer Systems Management and Support (CSMS for short) so far its interesting but a lot of work and things thrown at you all at once. At one time I wanted to become a veterinarian but, sadly, I didn't have the marks nor money and patience to go to school for 6 years after High School. So in the 11th grade I decided I wanted to be an Accountant, cause I liked the accounting class I took and I did really well at it. I planned on going to college to study this but after my first year and introductory to accounting I learned to hate it by second semester. So I decided on computers cause I like them and I'm fairly good at using them. I love animals and would gladly ditch my car for a deer in the road. Deer are so cute!
I still live at home (it's a lot cheaper than moving out) with my parents and my two sisters. I am the oldest of all. My middle sister Katie, a.k.a. Jarsali, also has a webpage and if you have the time or are a Brad Pitt fan please go check it out.
Some things I enjoy are cruising around town, listening to my collection of various tunes, talking with friends, reading, writing, fixing my webpage, and spending time with my oh so cute boyfriend! I read mostly fantasy novels like Dragonlance. They are my favorite! Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, thanks for the great writings! I do a bit of short story writing and wish the some day I will be able to get my thoughts straight enough of to write a book. All my short stories are fantasy/fiction based. I thought of posting them on my site but most are not suitable for younger viewers, plus I'm a little self conscious. :)
Um, trying to think of things to add to this site so you'll get to know me more :) Um, I love the color purple and black of course :) I love rings, I used to wear a ring on each finger but they used to get caught in my hair all the time and it annoyed me so now I usually only wear two, my High School ring and a thumb ring.
My all time favorite band is Metallica and one day I will go to one of their concerts! :) Most of my music is alternative and metal, but I like just about all kinds of music :)
As far as my attitude goes, I'm a pretty laid back kinda person, and a lot of people like to talk to me about problems they've had or are having and I try and help them out. I don't do this so much anymore cause those friends I used to help have all gone off to University, hopefully watching out for themselves :) I love people, I guess I'm a people person. You can never have too many friends.
I have a shoe fetish. I'm not afraid to admit it either, I know I'm obsessed with shoes :) But what woman isn't? :) Also, you can tell from all the :)'s I smile a lot, and laugh a lot. I'm a pretty happy person, as well as stubborn :) But being stubborn is fun.
As you will see from my site, if you haven't already, is that I love and believe in fantasy creatures. Sure I think fairies and unicorns and dragons existed or do exist. Go ahead non-believer's laugh, but I truly do believe especially in unicorns. They have always been my favorite. They're just so beautiful and if I could, I would love to see one for real!
I mentioned earlier about my cute boyfriend. Well, he's more than just cute, he's so sweet and a big help to me. His name is Darren and he's the sweetest, most caring guy in the world! We have been together for almost 3 1/2 years now! (Knock on wood, really I'm not superstitious!) He is my #1 supporter and without him I would have given up on everything when things got rough. He's always been there supporting me and my decisions, even the ones he doesn't agree with or knows won't work out. :)
