Stant wasted
no time finding a way past the large foe. He climbed over broken
stairs and buildings until he could reach the narrow path between two buildings
that he had spotted down below. Lichram seeing Stant set himself
up so that he could draw the dragon right over Stant's position.
After receiving the go ahead signal from Stant, Lichram began to throw
small fireballs and snowballs at the dragon. These spells didn't
hurt the dragon of course, but it was a smart thing to do. It didn't
waste much mana, and if it hit the dragon enough times, he would for sure
be annoyed enough to come after him.
The strategy worked well enough.
The dragon started to advance on Lichram's position. As it moved
over Stant, he jumped up and swung the sword at the dragons chest.
The sword only scratched the skin because it wasn't long enough to reach
any farther. The dragon, Xamilrit, feeling the sword scratch him,
looked down and Saw Stant standing there. His eyes filled with rage.
His nostrils began to flare. Stant realizing that he was now in serious
troble and was soon going to have to deal with a rather healthy dose of
fire breath immeadiatly ducked into the abandoned house and took cover.
Xamilrit opened his mouth, and an intense beam of fire blasted out.
It hit the ground and walls with such force that the seemed to almost crumble.
Seeing that the spontanious plan didn't work, Lichram fired a bolt of lightning
right at the beast. The bolt didn't appear to affect the dragon,
except in making him angrier.
Xamilrit turned tward Lichram and unleashed
the same explosive fury as he did only seconds before. Lichram managed
to dodge the incomming blast by a few inches. Lichram rolled and
hid behind a large rock. Another, not as strong blast came, but instead
of breaking the rock, it spread out around it and came back on itself engulfing
the other side. Xamilrit thinking that he just rosted two more victims,
turned his attention back to wreaking buildings.
Stant crawled out from behind his cover,
moved back outside, and looked down to where he had left lichram.
Of course he didn't see him. Stant ran down the stairway as fast
as he could to hope he could find Lichram. He reached the bottom
and looked around. He saw Lichram laying on the ground, burnt but
not out of it just yet. After a little drink from a rujuvination
potion, Lichram was up and ready for action.
Lichram, angry from before, opened up
a full electrical storm on the dragon. Stant took this opportunity
to start advancing on the dragon. Xamilrit was shaken by the surprise
of the storm bearing down on him. He crouched down and tried to shield
himself as much as possible with his wings. Lichram then let loose
with a few lightning bolts that burned holes in Xamilrit's already damaged
wings. At this point, Stant was almost up to the dragon. Xamilrit
Lifted up his head, only to see a leaping Stant flying at him, sword poised
in front, and landing right in frot of him. Xamilrit, somewhat surprised
by this bold move, blew a small stream of fire down at Stant. Stant
curled up, and let the armor take the force and heat of the dragon's most
recent attack. When the smoke cleared, Stant stood up and thrust
his sword right into the center of Xamilrit's chest. It pierced deep
inside. Xamilrit swung his claw down, knocking Stant down.
Using his damaged wing, his flipped Stant up unto the air. Opening
his mouth as if to eat him on the way down, Lichram unleashed another strong
lightning bolt at the dragon.
The bolt seemed to curve and hit the
handle of the sword. The blast traveled up its blade, past Xamilrit's
tough skin, and fried him from the inside. Xamilrit curled under
the pain, and Stant landed right on his head. Feeling the fear of
the moment and using it to his advantage, Stant slid down Xamilrit's back
and tore two large scales from his back on the way down. The dragon
reared up in pain exposing the sword once again. Lichram seized the
opportunity to hit him hard with another lightning bolt powered with everything
he had. The blast was strong and true. It hit the knob dead
center and sent shock waves through the dragon's body. Xamilrit,
extremely weak from the amount of energy he was just hit with, staggared
to the side of a cliff. Stant ran back over to him and pulled his
sword from the dragons chest. The withdraw of the sword pained the
dragon too much. He slipped off the side and fell all the way down
the cliff to the stream below, where his lifeless carcass floated away.
Stant and lichram both breathed a sigh
of relief. The battle was over and they had one.
"Now that was..." said Stant.
"Electrifying!" added Lichram.
"Ha ha ha ha. Yeah. Yeah!"
yelled Stant.
"He he he. Pick up your little
trinkets, and lets get out of here."
"Yeah. Time to take a nice long
nap."
"I think this is the first time I'm
agreeing with you since we first left."
