Missing You - Ash's Story
note: Please read the story I Love You? for more info on this story. names have been used which seem to be rumors and names I need to make up(especially the middle names, they're important for the next few chapters however I need these names). It has been one year since Misty left Ash so they are Ash-20 and Misty-22.
Chapter One - Forgotten Lonliness
Ash Christopher Ketchum stared up at the ceiling in his bedroom. He still hadn't hung that artificial moose's head. The night was cool and lonely. A chill of air passed through the window. It was January. The snow outside blew into his room with an eerie chill. It had already been one year since Misty left him. He felt all his problems weighing him down. Ash felt the world had chosen him as it's puppet. He lived in his messy so-called room. His hair was all messed up. He felt a pang in his left eye. He looked back at the pictures on the nightstand. He saw Misty's face in one picture. He remembered the night it was taken.
He and Misty looked out at the stone of which was called Maiden's Peak. Misty looked wonderful in that ceremonial gown of hers. Her hair, red and down. She seemed to brighten as the sun set beyond the shores of the ocean. He looked deeply into her eyes as she turned to him. They drew ever closer. Then, they kissed. It was the first time in his life he had kissed a girl. Misty looked kindly into his eyes. That night, they vowed that they would love each other forever, no matter what happened.
That was ten years ago. Now it seemed like it was nothing. Ash realized though that Misty pledged to love him forever. Was that true now? Did she ever think of him? Does she like someone else now? Ash got up and went into Misty's former room. Most everything that belonged to her was gone. Her clothes, her jewelry, her shine, her. Ash felt another pang, this time it was in both eyes. He looked back to the dresser. It had an elegantly designed mirror with about eight drawers, four on each side. It had a nice tinted color. He looked at the top of the dresser, on it was Misty ring. The ring which Ash bought for his proposal. It was only worn three months. He looked at it in such pain, a tear fell out of his eye. It was left untouched for one year already. It sat there still sparkling in the sunlight. It didn't move around like it did on Misty's finger. Ash picked it up for the first time in one year. It felt so different than it did one year ago. The way it felt in his hand when he gave it to Misty. He felt his warmth drift away into nothing and headed to his room to get some much needed sleep.

The next morning had been just like any other. Ash got ready for his day of classes, and headed downstairs. Pikachu would be making breakfast with Ash's mother. Pikachu would always eat right next to Ash. Finally, before they left, Ash would kiss his picture of the young Misty and head out the door. Pikachu, though, would go to class with Ash because he felt Ash could use a companion. Pikachu had grown into a more serene friend everyday.
After the day's classes, Ash met up with one of Misty's old friends,
Ami.
"Hi, Ash. How 'ya 'doin?" Ami asked with a bit of perkyness.
"Alright, I guess. How about you?" Ash responded in a bright
tone.
"Great! Anyway, guess what? Misty called me this morning!"
and as soon as she said that Ash stood more to attention, yet he tried not to show it. He
stayed silent.
"You miss her still, don't you," she said in more of a
statement and in a lower tone. Ash could only nod.
"She asked how you were doing, and she wanted to know if you
still." Ami kept silent and looked at Ash.
"think about her? Yeah, I do. I've missed her ever since,"
Ash spoke depressingly.
"I hope you feel better," Ami said as she got into Ash's car
since she rode home with him.
When they reached Ami's house, she looked at Ash's
eyes. They didn't look as glistening as they did when Misty was around. He always seemed
to be more radiant. She told him once of her crush on him. He knew she still cared, she
knew she did too. However, Ami knew that Ash's heart belonged to Misty.
"Misty still thinks about you, I hope you know that," Ami
said as she got out.
Ash kept silent for fear of breaking apart. He felt his throat choke up
and he went cold. Ami had already gone inside. He realized this and drove home.
Ash had felt lonely during the night. He stared out at the stars in the
night knowing that Misty could be looking at the same sky. That was when the phone rang.
Ash had his own seperate line.
"Misty!?" He asked as he picked up the phone.
"No, it's me, Ami. I know it's late but you have to come over here
now," Ami whispered.
"Um.. Okay, I guess," He hung up, got ready, and sneaked out.

Ash arrived at Ami's house that night. He didn't
realize how chilly it was. It was bitterly cold and frightening. It seemed like a perfect
night to get mugged.
"Ash, I'm so glad you're here. I couldn't get you here earlier
because of my parents. Anyway, come on in," Ami pushed.
Her house was still a little dark even though the light was on.
However, this was not the first time he had been here. He was here with Misty once. The
living room was quite nice. In the corner was a large recliner and completely opposite of
that in the other corner was the TV. There was a soft and comfy sofa to the right of the
recliner and a nice a collection of expensive figureines to the left of it.
"Ash, here, look at this, it's from Misty," Ami coaxed.
Ash looked at the envelope and just stared at it. He was very reluctant
to open the envelope. He did anyway. He looked at the letter and noticed that there were
tear dried up tear drops on it. He read quietly. It read:
Dear Ash,
I know I left you a
long time ago. I'm so sorry I did that. I went to Europe to try to forget about you and
all my problems. Every time I tried, I always wondered how you would react to the sights.
I miss you Ash. I've missed you every second of my life. I can't keep all my promises to
you, but I might be coming back. Maybe, we can be together again. I love you Ash Ketchum,
I will always love you.
Misty Lynn Waterflower
Ash held the letter with a great happiness. He felt
his heart race through his life. He thought that he would finally be able to touch her
hand again, to hug her everyday, to kiss her every second. He knew that she still thought
of him.
"Will you be all right? I mean, you look like your dead," Ami
joked.
"Yeah, I hope she does come though," Ash whispered.
"Me too," Ami could only look at him.
Ami could feel his happiness spread throughout the room. If he was
happy, she was happy. She still cared for him the way she did for the past two years, even
though it meant Misty and not her.

When Ash got home his mother was standing on the
doorstep.
"Ash Ketchum, where have you been?" Mrs. Ketchum asked
agitated.
"Misty's coming home," and that was all Ash could say.
