Chemists are actually pretty good despite being a basic job. Phoenix downs are increadibly useful: They can both revive an ally and instantly kill an undead creature. Not bad huh? Since they can equip guns (which you get later in the game) the chemist is an ideal class for Mustadio when you get him and master his Engineer class. Chemists also lead the way to magic users, so mastering chemistry is not a bad idea.
