Cox Arena - Promoter Steve Aylward
SAN DIEGO HOUSE CARD
(FADEIN: The FWF control center, where Tony Ross and Jake Shades sit, it is reminiscent to any sports show, with an anchor desk, Tony and Jake sitting at each side, dressed in their normal broadcast attire)
TONY ROSS: Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the FWF control center, where the FWF has just completed a very successful house show emanating from Cox Arena in beautiful San Diego, California.
JAKE SHADES: Beautiful my ass, what did these chumps do to deserve a show. These aren't really wrestling fans.
TONY ROSS: These are some of the best fans in the world Jake, and tonight they were treated to a spectacular evening of wrestling. The witnessed the tag team champions in action, many of the FWF's up and coming stars and a match between two former champions that will go down as being one of the greatest matches in federation history. Let's get to the highlights.
(CUTTO: Highlights of the match between the Candidate's and the Franchise's Dream. Tony and Jake narrate over the top of the highlights, like they will do for each of the matches)
TONY ROSS: The Candidates came to the ring, and Raygan and Nickson still looked a little upset at Doc Silver.
JAKE SHADES: Silver always knows best, he is the mastermind of the FWF, and he'll lead these guys to be stars.
TONY ROSS: Regardless, they controlled the opening of this match, using a variety of double team maneuvers to keep the Franchise's Dream off balance. That led Codie Thompson to try to reorganize his troops on the outside of the ring.
JAKE SHADES: But you know how those politicians are, they wouldn't let any of that tomfoolery happen outside of the ring.
TONY ROSS: The Candidates quickly pursued them to the outside, where the Franchise's Dream were quickly able to turn the tide, throwing Raygan to the outside and isolating Nickson inside of the ring, where they would dominate for quite awhile, scoring several near falls.
(CUTTO: Near fall after near fall with Raygan continually kicking out, Codie Thompson anguishing on the outside of the ring)
JAKE SHADES: After five minutes of this, Raygan was tired of playing Ricky Morton, and was able to make the tag to Nickson. Nickson threw Danny Gable to the outside of the ring, and went to work on the greener Lance Turner, and basically tossed him around like a rag doll.
TONY ROSS: After that tag, Nickson completely took control, as when Gable tried to return to the ring, Raygan sent him flying, knocking his jaw into the barrier on the outside. That led to Nickson tiger driving Turner in the corner, a move he calls the Propaganda, and Raygan following up with the Beyond Reproach split-legged moonsault for the pin.
(CUTTO: Candidates having them arm raised by referee Sal Putz, then CUTTO: Shades and Ross back in the studio)
TONY ROSS: A huge win for the Candidates, as they move one step closer to becoming FWF tag champions.
JAKE SHADES: I told you Silver knew best. The Odd Couple would have never have won that match, but the Candidates won easily.
TONY ROSS: In other action tonight, two newcomers faced off, as Marvelous Merrick took on Alex Graham.
JAKE SHADES: These guys will be gone in two weeks.
TONY ROSS: I don't think so Jake, these guys got a lot of potential. Let's take a look at some highlights.
(CUTTO: Highlights of the match)
TONY ROSS: Graham really controlled in the beginning of the match, using a variety of moves to keep Merrick off balance.
JAKE SHADES: The fact that neither of these guys had really seen each other much would account for that.
TONY ROSS: That is correct, as originally it appeared Graham was the more researched of the two combatants, as he was one step ahead of Merrick throughout.
JAKE SHADES: And then, as always, the tide changed.
TONY ROSS: Graham went to the well once too often, after hitting several devastating clotheslines on Merrick, he tried another, and Merrick reversed it into a DDT, scoring the pinfall out of nowhere. A great win for Marvelous Merrick.
TONY ROSS: Up next we saw a match between two established stars of the FWF, each of whom is still searching for their first title reign, Golem and Conflict.
(CUTTO: Highlights of the match between Golem and Conflict.)
TONY ROSS: Conflict started this match as a house of fire.
JAKE SHADES: Of course, all of us knew it was a matter of time before Golem would squash him.
TONY ROSS: Not necessarily Jake. Conflict immediately hit as soon as the bell rung, hitting a nice belly to belly suplex, and clotheslining Golem over the top rope.
JAKE SHADES: That didn't make the big man too happy.
TONY ROSS: Golem charged back in the ring, and began to destroy Conflict.
(CUTTO: Golem hitting a fallaway slam, as well as a DDT, and locking in an STF, with Conflict barely being able to reach the ropes)
JAKE SHADES: Again, only a matter of time.
TONY ROSS: Conflict would not stay down for long, though, Jake, as somehow he was able to muster up some sort of second wind. As Golem was going for a Spicolli Driver, Conflict was able to reverse it into a tornado DDT. The crowd, normally against Conflict, began cheering for him as he bought himself some time.
JAKE SHADES: Golem knows where he is at all times, he was just using the rest as well.
(CUTTO: Conflict getting a couple more shots in, locking in a full nelson)
TONY ROSS: Conflict was then able to execute his setup maneuver, the full nelson belly to back suplex, and called for Conflict's Crash.
JAKE SHADES: Again, Golem was too smart for him.
TONY ROSS: As soon as Conflict tried to execute the move, Golem reversed it straight into The Claw!!!
JAKE SHADES: The rest, as they say, is history.
TONY ROSS: Yes, Golem gets the win, but unfortunately he wasn't finished. Golem kept the claw on, and then he struck...
(CUTTO: Golem keeping The Claw on as referees try to break him off, and EMTs bring a stretcher to ringside, Golem, with the Claw still on, executes a ClawSlam, sending Conflict to the outside, and onto the stretcher, which produces a loud metallic clang, but doesn't break the stretcher, Conflict is then transferred to another stretcher, as Golem stands victorious in the ring)
(CUTTO: Jake and Tony)
TONY ROSS: Another convincing win for Golem. The after-match antics were a little much.
JAKE SHADES: When the management has ignored you the way they've ignored Golem, you have to make a point.
TONY ROSS: Golem hasn't been ignored, he's had his chance, and he's sure to get some more. Up next we have a match between two men that came out on the short end of the stick at the last Pay-per-view, Minion and JD Badluck.
(CUTTO: Highlights of the match)
TONY ROSS: Both men seemed determined to put their previous losses behind them, as neither would give an inch in the beginning.
JAKE SHADES: Minion started kicking ass, and Badluck had to run outside like the little wimp that he is.
TONY ROSS: A little respite ended up proving very vital for JD Badluck, as he slid passed a baseball slide by Minion, and proceeded to work him over on the outside, using any weapon he could find.
(CUTTO: Badluck whipping Minion into the rail, and then hitting him across the back with a wicked chair shot)
JAKE SHADES: Of course Badluck had to resort to these underhanded tactics, but Minion would definitely get his revenge.
TONY ROSS: That's right Jake. Badluck got Minion back in the ring, and had his high flying abilities working well.
JAKE SHADES: Until he went for too much.
TONY ROSS: Badluck was going for a top rope double axehandle, but Minion caught him and executed a beautiful release Northern Lights suplex, followed immediately by the Fall from Grace, allowing Minion to score the pinfall out of nowhere, much to the distaste of the San Diego crowd.
JAKE SHADES: What do they know? Another great win for Minion. His loss against Rabesque was nothing but a fluke.
(CUTTO: Back in the studio, to Tony and Jake)
TONY ROSS: Up next, a match that was probably the most controversial of the evening, Nemesis vs. Hacker.
(CUTTO: Hacker and Data making out in the ring, an official trying to break them up, allowed to receive Hacker's Virus)
JAKE SHADES: Some ref tried to break up the cutest couple in the business that will teach them.
(CUTTO: Nemesis coming to the ring, he sees a fan making an unusual "W" hand motion, Nemesis seems to like it, and continues to do it throughout the match)
TONY ROSS: It also seems as though Nemesis has a new sign for the crowd.
JAKE SHADES: I think it's retarded, maybe he should focus on wrestling.
TONY ROSS: These two definitely focused on wrestling tonight, as they brawled all over the building. Referee Willie Bennett lost control of this one early.
(CUTTO: Hacker and Nemesis fighting out into the crowd, the crowd loving it)
JAKE SHADES: Eventually these guys were able to get back in the ring where they belong.
TONY ROSS: That match was basically back and forth, Hacker continually kept trying to hit the Virus on Nemesis but Nemesis continued to fight it off. Neither man would give an inch. The crowd was really behind Nemesis.
JAKE SHADES: I really don't know what they see in this chump. Look at that gesture.
TONY ROSS: Things began to get interesting, though, as Bennett got knocked out about 10 minutes into the match. This allowed Nemesis to hit a Canadian backbreaker, and it appeared to put Hacker out, but there was no one to make the count.
JAKE SHADES: So Data decided to make herself known.
TONY ROSS: She climbed up on the apron, and Nemesis began to check her out.
JAKE SHADES: HA! I knew that Nemesis wouldn't be able to resist her powers!
TONY ROSS: Things were bleak for Nemesis, as Hacker was coming up from behind. Just as Hacker reached for the Virus, Nemesis turned around and hit the Wrath on Hacker. Data didn't take too kindly to that, as she came up from behind and gave Nemesis a low blow. Bennett revived and made the disqualification. Nemesis that proceeded to hit the Wrath on Data as well.
JAKE SHADES: That was a cheap win for Nemesis. There was no way he could beat Hacker like a man.
TONY ROSS: After the match, Nemesis stayed in the ring for a few words.
(CUTTO: Nemesis with a microphone.)
NEMESIS: "All right... I know what you are all thinking... 'So what, he beat Hacker? Big deal. Well, I am gonna prove that I am not just 'some face.' I am here, and I will show you all that I can do it. So... Suicide King (crowd begins to get louder)... I want a shot at that ring... we got together once before... to only draw. Let's settle the score... whaddya say? I figure... you... me... and some chaos might be quite an interesting mixture. So at the next card... I say we have ourselves a little dance party for that ring of yours... the Wrath (makes the gesture) awaits."
(CUTTO: The control center)
TONY ROSS: An unusual challenge by Nemesis. He really has made some noise in other promotions, it looks like he might be going for his break in the FWF.
JAKE SHADES: Are you kidding me? That chump challenging Suicide King? He's going to get destroyed.
TONY ROSS: Up next we had a very short but action packed match between Gladiator and Lars Magellan.
JAKE SHADES: Mr. Undefeated in action!!
TONY ROSS: But would things stay that way? Only time will tell.
(CUTTO: Gladiator/Magellan match, all clips are of Magellan having his way with Gladiator)
TONY ROSS: Lars Magellan didn't seem to have too much trouble with Gladiator, at least at the beginning of this match.
JAKE SHADES: That new attitude really fits him to a tee. I'm actually starting to like this guy.
TONY ROSS: That is correct. Magellan has taken a cocky attitude as of late, this undefeated thing had gone to his head.
JAKE SHADES: Look at that pose after a beautiful Samoan Drop.
TONY ROSS: Gladiator tried to put up some offense, but Magellan had a counter to everything.
(CUTTO: Gladiator retaliating with punches and kicks, but Magellan countering with a DDT)
TONY ROSS: Magellan had this match won, especially after a moves like this beautiful T-bone suplex. He had Gladiator set for the pin, until his arrogance got the best of him.
JAKE SHADES: Mr. Undefeated wasn't undefeated anymore.
(CUTTO: Magellan posing for the crowd, Gladiator coming from behind and rolling up Magellan, referee Stu Fields counts the 1-2-3.)
TONY ROSS: Gladiator stole the win there, much to the delight of the fans.
JAKE SHADES: Cheap win, he hooked the tights.
TONY ROSS: That was completely clean Jake. Maybe Magellan will learn not to be so cocky in the future. Up next we have the First Blood match between former Frontier Champion "The IKON" Abel Wicks, and the man that nearly became the first FWF World Heavyweight Champion, Maxwell Houz. Let's pick up the match about five minutes in.
(CUTTO: Wicks and Houz trading blows in the ring)
TONY ROSS: This match was what can basically be expected between these two, a brawl with a little wrestling mixed in.
JAKE SHADES: Why either would try that method I don't know, it's not like pinfalls mean anything in this match.
TONY ROSS: Correct, but you have to be able to weaken your opponent to be able to draw blood. Abel Wicks here executes a nice belly to back IKONplex, sending Maxwell Houz sprawling.
JAKE SHADES: Wicks sure knows how to take control of a match. That's why he's the greatest!
TONY ROSS: I think a couple guys might disagree with you Jake. Still, he was having his way with Houz in this match. That was until Wicks went for a backdrop after sending Houz into the ropes, and Houz executed a nice swinging neckbreaker.
JAKE SHADES: A rare mistake for the IKON, I hope everyone had the tape machines rolling.
TONY ROSS: With referee Stu Fields executing the mandatory ten count, which ended up being irrelevant in a first blood match, Houz made it to his feet first, and proceeded to try biting Abel Wicks.
JAKE SHADES: You see! Underhanded tactics by Maxwell Houz!
TONY ROSS: He was doing everything in his power to win the match. A dramatic turn of events took place, when Houz was going to clothesline Wicks over the top rope, and Wicks through Fields in the way. With the referee incapacitated momentarily...
JAKE SHADES: That seems to be the theme of the evening.
TONY ROSS: With the referee incapacitated, Abel Wicks took a vial of red liquid, and attempted to throw it on Maxwell Houz! Houz was unaware of this at the time.
JAKE SHADES: Another brilliant move by the Wickster!
TONY ROSS: Unfortunately for him, though, the plan backfired, as Maxwell Houz blocked the Wicks punch with the vial in his hand, and proceeded to slam it against Wicks' head, spewing the red liquid all over Wicks, as well as opening up a brutal cut in Wicks' forehead. When Fields awoke, he rang for the bell and declared Maxwell Houz the winner.
(CUTTO: FWF studios, Jake and Tony again)
JAKE SHADES: That should have been a blatant disqualification, Houz used a foreign object!
TONY ROSS: That Wicks brought to the ring, a hard earned win for Maxwell Houz. Up next, we had a non-title match between the new FWF Tag Champions, The Cat Pack as the took License to Kill!
JAKE SHADES: Finally the FWF has tag champions they can be proud of.
(CUTTO: Caitiff and Black Cat starting off, CatScan is at ringside)
TONY ROSS: License to Kill started this one off very well, as after a few moments that were able to isolate Copycat from Black Cat, and did him in pretty well.
JAKE SHADES: That of course, would not last very long.
TONY ROSS: Yes, as Caitiff was holding Copycat for a double team maneuver, Copycat moved and Caitiff hit Harrington, sending both men sprawling, and allowing Copycat to make the tag to Black Cat, who cleaned house in the ring.
JAKE SHADES: And this one got over before it really even started.
TONY ROSS: That's correct, The Cat Pack quickly through Harrington out of the ring. Whipped Caitiff into the ropes, and executed a double team DDT, with Copycat lifting Caitiff up and Black Cat slamming him down. Referee Sal Putz made the three count. The tag champions looked very impressive in this short match.
JAKE SHADES: I told you, they're going to bring the respect to the belts that the New Breed never could.
TONY ROSS: Next, fans were treated to an absolute classic of a match in tonight's main event. So much action, we couldn't even include it all in this highlight show. But let's see some of the footage as former Cable TV and Frontier Champion Stone Wolf took on Former National Champion and Extreme Ring Holder Asylum!
(CUTTO: fast and furious action between the two, each man trying to rely on their strengths, Stone Wolf keeping Asylum to the mat with a variety of suplexes and submission moves, CUTTO: Asylum hitting several aerial maneuvers, stunning Stone Wolf)
TONY ROSS: These two are two of the greatest competitors ever to compete here in the FWF. The fact that they are very evenly matched showed tonight as neither man could gain any kind of advantage for an extended period of time.
JAKE SHADES: I just wish they hadn't had to go so long. Those two are dreadful!
TONY ROSS: You're definitely the only one who thinks that Jake. Around the 22 minute mark, after a plethora of back and forth activity, Stone Wolf was firmly in command after hit a spinning neckbreaker, piledriver, and second rope elbow all in succession, seemingly stunning Asylum.
JAKE SHADES: And we all hoped that we were put out of our misery, but no! Asylum wasn't done yet.
TONY ROSS: That's correct, Stone Wolf called for The Black Mountain Splash, but somehow Asylum was able to counter it into an inverted DDT. Both men were done at this point. Asylum reached a burst of energy. This is when he climbed to the top rope and hit the fall into madness shooting star press!
JAKE SHADES: But somehow, that little twerp was able to get his foot on the rope, and Willie Bennett had to stop the count!
TONY ROSS: Yes, at this point, Asylum was quite distraught, so he decided to move Stone Wolf and try the move again, but this time Stone Wolf saw it coming! He moved out of the way, and Asylum hit the mat hard!
JAKE SHADES: Again, this match was never going to end.
TONY ROSS: Stone Wolf seized the opportunity, and locked in one of his trademark moves, the bow and arrow submission. Asylum was sent screaming in agony as the pain surged through his body.
JAKE SHADES: And then, we were finally put out of our misery.
TONY ROSS: With Bennett checking Asylum to see if he quit, the bell mysteriously rung. Stone Wolf thought that Asylum had submitted, by the timekeeper informed Bennett that 30 minutes had eclipsed, and the match was ruled a time limit draw!
(CUTTO: A mutual hand shake after the match as the crowd gives a standing O for both men, CUTTO: back at the studio)
JAKE SHADES: As much as I hate to admit it, those two put on a helluva match.
TONY ROSS: Yes, that was a great way to end a simply fantastic show here in San Diego. For Jake Shades, I'm Tony Ross, have a nice evening.
(the theme song plays as the camera pulls away, FADEOUT)
