Zelda is all about product inventory. Finding new weapons and upgrading
old ones. It's always a thrill to find a new item to add to your inventory, and
there'll be plenty to collect in Majora's Mask. We've listed four swords
above, stolen from various screens released by Nintendo.
Here's what we can deduce as far as sword upgrades will go. You generally start off a Zelda adventure with a flimsy little sword, in Ocarina of Time is
was even made out of wood for cripes sake. This time around it appears to
be the red sword pictured above, which in some respects does resemble
the Kokiri Sword in Ocarina of Time.
The blue sword would logically come next. We also believe the longer blue
sword may actually be available in the game. One screen reveals a sailor
who asks to upgrade Link's blade for 80 rupees. An upgrade only powers
up a sword, it generally doesn't completely chance it's appearance, so
going from a short blue sword to a longer version seems logical. Also, 80
rupees is extremely cheap, so an upgrade to something like the double
bladed sword from the short blue sword definitely wouldn't be a possibility.
The powerful double bladed sword seems like the ultimate weapn, so we've
placed it last. There could very well be a more powerful version of this
sword available toward the very end of the game, though.
NOTE: It appears that only human Link will be able to weild swords.
Swords will be disabled when you are morphed into the other various
species. Instead the primary weapons for Link's alter egos seem to be as
follows: Goron Link will use the Megaton Hammer, Zora Link will use the
Hookshot and Deku Link will use the Deku Nuts.
