Review Round 2:

We saw some really close games this round, and the top sides won again the prove they will be the sides to beat in Manta Division and in other divisions in the future. We have 6 of our teams on 1 win and 1 loss, making it a scramble to climb up the ladder to 3rd possie. McCrae and Outback remain the only two undefeated teams in Manta, what a game it will be when those two come up to play! And sadly we also have 2 teams on the bottom of the ladder that have not won a game yet, they are the Kilarney Cats and the Urinal Cakes. This almost looks like a battle for the wooden spooners at the moment.

Big Show v Outback:

This game saw us down at Big Shows homeground for what was to be a real nailbiter of a game. Both sides are going to be very good in the future. It was close all the way in each quarter except when Outback took a 25 point lead going into the final quarter. This lead was deminished in a last ditch effort by Big Show to fall just short of their opponents. At the final siren Outback had won by 3 points. The best players for Big Show were Ollie with 39 touches of the footy that were converted into 2 goals, and Iva Bone kicked 4 for his side. The best players for Outback were again Robbie Ahmat with an amazing 60 touches of the footy and 5 goals. If Robbie keeps this form up, Outback will surely be a threat to their opponents for the rest of the season. The highest other goal kicker for Outback was Austinn Jones with 13 touches and 5 goals to his name.

Mystic Wizards 2 v Brisbane Bombers:

It was always expected that Mystic 2 would perform well against the fledgling Brisbane side. And this was definately the case, Mystic 2 were just the better field on the day, and the inexperienced Bombers suffered a demoralising loss. Mystic 2 handled the ball well and played out their four quarters of footy with style. Brisbane suffered the loss of two key players in Alex Fiori who was poked in the eye and will miss one game and Joe Alessio who suffered a concussion and will also miss a game. This demoralised the Brisbane side and this is obvious by the score line. Mystic 2 were victors by 90 points. After this win Mystic climbed to number 3 on the ladder and the Bombers fell down to 8th on the ladder. Best players for Mystic were David Brenna with 73 touches of the footy and 4 goals, and Jeff Direct with 23 touches and 6 goals to his name. Best players for the Bombers were Peter Denham with 30 touches and 2 behinds, and Jimmy Lloyd with 20 touches of the footy and 7 goals to his name.

North Ormeau v Noble Park Rattlesnakes:

The Rattlesnakes were always expected to do well, and do well they did. It was generally a close game, but going into the long break North Ormeau had a massive 56 point lead. After stern words from Noble Park's coach they came back from 56 points behind at half time to win by 5 points. North Ormeau will now have to think of a different strategy if they are to succeed this season. After this match Noble Park sit just above Brisbane in 7th by just under 9% and North Ormeau sit above Noble Park in 6th place. Best players for North Ormeau were Bonus Star with 53 touches and 2 goals, and Tim Pornolejo with 16 touches and 6 goals. The best players for Noble Park were Ray Hall with 49 touches and 2 goals and 1 point, and Austin Jones with 17 touches, 6 goals and a behind to his name.

Urinal Cakes v Niebelhiem Chocobos:

The Cakes hosted Niebelhiem today. It was always going to be a win for Niebelhiem but the Cakes had the determination and stamina that they lacked in last weeks game against McCrae. Urinal gave it all they could until they ran out of steam in the last quarter seeing them lose to Niebelhiem by a margin of 22 points. Niebelhiem should of won this game more convincingly but they had come into this game on the trot and were probably suffering from a strong crowd of Urinal supporters. Urinal fall to last position on the ladder and Niebelhiem climb to fourth place. Best players for Urinal were David Scoliosis with 42 touches, 2 goals and one behind, and Albert Botbot with 25 touches, 6 goals and a behind to his name.

Kilarney Cats v McCrae Mullets:

Kilarney's first home game of the season was a disapointing one. Poor attendance and poor form from their side proved to be the underlying factors of their loss to the Mullets. The Mullets lead at all changes and were never really challenged by the Cats throughout the game. The Mullets were victors by 45 points. This game also saw the first melle in Manta Division for the season with Bill Goggin from the Cats suffering a broke jaw after recieving a 'Stone Cold Stunner' from the Mullets Lisa Hart. Goggin will be out of contention for 10 weeks while his jaw mends and Lisa Hart's appearence at the tribunal saw her cop a 5 week suspension. The best players on the ground for the Cats were Billy Brownless with 46 touches and 1 goal one point, and 'Dancin' Boris Yeltzin with 15 touches, 5 goals and one behind.
