Welcome, young Serpent to a world of Shadows and Mysteries. You should have already been assigned a mentor within the guild to help you with your progress. This letter will serve as a quick reference tool to help you understand a bit more about your guild and Achaea. Useful Helpfiles: on things HELP SERPENTLORDS HELP PLAYERKILLING WARNING : All Serpentlords will refrain from PK save in self defence until they reach the 21st circle of Knowledge. HELP CURES HELP HEALINGLIST HELP LESSONS HELP LEARNING HELP POCKETBELTS on places HELP MINIA HELP LODI HELP BUTTERFLIES Now that you've read these files, what's next? Well, your inguilder should have outfitted you with some basic equipment. A Backpack, a Pocketbelt, and 5 myrrh. Remember to store all gold you collect inside your backpack before you quit or you will lose it all! Now you're ready for Minia! In Minia you will find a Pixie Queen and an Imp Lord at war. You can benefit from their dispute by killing Pixies and selling them to the Imp Lord (148) and killing Imps and selling them to the Pixie Queen (111). This is a quick and easy way to gain experience and most importantly, Gold. You will be using only Sumac against all pixies and other NPCs for your other venoms and skills will have no effect on them (SEE AB VENOM for more details). You may also want to join with a guildmate in your endeavors with the pixies and imps. That will make for faster killing and less over all damage for each of you. In Lodi you will find many things for the young adventurer. There are wildcats, adult and juvenile. The Adult ones can be sold to the troll farmer, Blaan. There is also a mine where the Foreman at the head of the mine will buy bats from you for a good amount. Also you will find many quests within the mine, so try everything and greet everyone. About those things you cant sell : You will find in Minia, Koblods and Firesprites and Hell Cats. In Lodi you will find Sheep and lambs plus the juvenile wild cats, plus anything else you think you might be able to slay. Though they produce no money they are decent experience and are something different than bats, pixies, and imps. Now, though you can not sell these, they do make for good essence for our Patron, Twilight, Lord of Darkness. To make offernings, you must first stand on ground that is marked by a divine. There is an area marked by Twilight 2 south of the butterfly collecter, Vellis. When you arrive with you assortment of corpses you will offer them by using this syntax OFFER (creature) where creature is the dead thing, i.e. offer Kobold. This will help help the guild by giving Lord Twilight essence to do for us, the Serpentlords. Allright, now you have a few lessons and you're wondering how to spend them. Well, we'll give you the outlines of how we recommend you begin your training. After you've completed these two skills see a Guild Mentor for more information. Remember, always attempt to learn from a guildmate rather then one of the NPC trainers. It greatly helps your guild and is looked upon favorably. Train Subterfuge until the skill FLAY (found within Capable) Train Venom until the skill CAMUS (found in Expert) See HELP SKILLRANKS for a listing of all skill ranks. EQUIPMENT: Here's some starting Equipment you'll want to pick up as the gold comes to you. This is in order of importance. TATTOOS: A Starburst tattoo will ressurect you when you die...lessening experience loss. A Boar Tattoo is a young one's best friend. It will Heal you slowly. A Moss tattoo will clot your bleeding. Very Important. A WHIP: A whip allows you to use the skill FLAY to rid your opponents of sileris coating. VIALS: Vials contain elixirs and salves to heal yourself. When you get closer to Level 20 and closer to an age where Player vs Player combat becomes a real possibility you'll want to pick up one of every elixir or salve listed under HELP HEALINGLIST HERBS: The same concept applies for herbs. You'll want to pick up 10 of each type of herb listed under HELP CURES as soon as you have aquire the previously mentioned equipment. Beyond Level 20: Well, if you've made it this far you've done very well. Now is the time to seek out your Guildmates and truly learn how to fight. Achaea is about Life and Death and learning to defend yourself against another player should be paramount in your mind right now. There are those in this guild who have survived long and well on their skills and they are the ones to seek. Speak with Elentari, Keyth or another Secretary regarding whom to seek out. Good Luck, young Serpent... I would like to thank Grind and Taj for their helpful posts, All I have done was to edit what they presented and put it in this nice format for you to use as you need it. Thanks also go to Xandor for making it sound a lot more interesting. I hope this helps, Serpentine Mentor, Earl Keyth Danial, The Gallant Hashan
