The Day the Moon Howled Back

Once upon a time,
We wrote a little rhyme,
Put it in white and black,
On the fateful day the moon howled back.

We sat down at a table,
As quick as we were able,
Instead of using our feet,
We used a sticker to save Allison's seat.

Allison was not a normal girl as anyone would agree,
We couldn't tell if she was six feet tall, or even five-foot three.
Because Allison we could not see, she's our invisible friend,
Let us just say, on that fateful day, she met a disagreeable end.

Amazingly quickly, Ashley came near,
While all of the table quivered in fear.
Giggling and talking -- the girl never is quiet! --
With best interests in mind, we asked her to try it,

She waddled up to the chair,
And planted, with great effort, her booty there.
We opened our mouths in alarm-
That much weight would do our friend Allison too much harm!

Thankfully Allison survived, to our later chagrin,
But at that time, she ran around to see what she had gotten herself in.
Feeling like she was in a bad jungle flick,
Allison had to push aside foliage incredibly thick!

Oh! Just a second, before I forget,
Allison had broke into a hot, heated sweat.
But then, to Allison's alarm,
She realized that she was in a giant sweat farm!

Allison was alone, hoping for things to look up soon,
So in the meantime, she howled at the moon.
As she howled at the moon, so large, so close,
The moon answered back, it was very verbose.

As if the moon heralded some summer storm,
The moon issued forth a breeze so very warm.
Suddenly Allison jumped up, striken agast.
She had just smelled the wind that the moon had passed.

Now all Allison could do was to wait and cower,
And hope the moon did not bring forth a "meteor shower".
Then Allison realized an amazing thing,
She was imaginary, she could do anything!

Then Allison, looking to the skies,
Thought she would give her one of her friends a little surprise.
Then with a puff of smoke and a boom,
Allison was back in Mandy's Math Room!

Allison Huzzahed, she Yipped, and Hurrayed,
For surviving that, she should get a parade!
Seeing her friend, Mandy was overjoyed,
Ashley on the otherhand was highly annoyed.
