This is a good question...Since I saw Saint Seiya for the first time,
the character who got my attention
was Shiryu...Why? I don't know it very well... It was because him that
I started watching the anime and
started recording all episode!
I think he is an exceptional fighter, noble, kind, loyal, overproud
(yes, but here it is a quality. He knows
exactly what he is. I hate false modesty!).
He isn't like the other Saints, who fight for Athena in first place.
Shiryu fights for his friends and for
the world where live the people that he really loves. He fights also
to protect his friend Saori Kido, who
he considers delicate and sweet.
I love his fights because he is always noble, he always wants to win
in the same conditions of his
opponent, he never take advantage of Cloth or something more. It was
like this in the battle against Seiya,
Ohko (this loyalty came from the two sides, because Shiryu fighted
with Ohko without his Cloth and Ohko
vended his eyes to be in the same conditions of his opponent), and
until in the fight with Death Mask.
Shiryu is calm and wise, but active and happy at the same time...
He is always wanting to know new things, to learn always more, until
with the sacrifice of his own life.
He is the best!
