Get your sneaking suit on, re-load your socom, 'cause here comes...

This IS the best game I've seen in 1999 yet. it has everything a good game needs: Graphics, nice little touches (hands up who would of guessed ALL of the plot twists) a great story line ( unlike Zelda 64's predictable Knight in shining armor story, yawn) and things to actually beat it for (not just the story line) and much, much more....

You play as Solid Snake, a one-man army of sorts, who must infiltrate shadow moses island, save Darpa Chief Donald Anderson and Armstech President Kenneth Baker from the clutches of Evil terrorists, and see whether the terrorists have the power to launch a nuclear weapon. And you find they do, and also that it's a LOT stronger than anyone thought it was, and that if it's fired, it will mean the end of the world, nasty eh? But the plot it about a thousand times more complicated than that, as you enter a world where no-one, not ANYONE can be trusted.

Much like Mission Impossible, this is a one man mission, and you won't get any help from outside the base, accept helpful tips via your codec from various people such as Ukrainian Nuke Specialist Nastasha Romanenko, and Colonel Roy Campbell, the man who convinced you to come out of retirement to go on this mission, using less than nice terms.

With two endings, loads of ranks to achieve, plenty of guards to kill, secret items to get, extra costumes to find, and a story line which will make you laugh, cry, scream, shout, and gasp in awe, Metal Gear Solid is an essential purchase.

Now, I know this'll make every American gamer's blood boil, but here's a description of the UK Metal Gear Solid Ltd Edition Premium Package:

I bought this brilliant set for £59.99 (about $110) and it was worth every penny. All of the included goods were, as stated Brilliant, especially the T-shirt and the soundtrack.
