The Entrance
Many Darkovan Renunciates had Laran, including Jaelle and Magda. Many suffered threshold sickness and had to be taken to towers for treatment. Though The Renunciates did not form towers nor matrix circles, we as Modern Day Renunciates are truly a Circle Of Sisters. Within that circle, instant communication is frequent and fondly referred to as Laran. As The sisterhood of the Sword and The Priestesses of Avarra (who were healers) joined to form the Darkover Renunciates, we honor that tradition by having The Sword and The Amethyst as our symbols. The amethyst crystal is considered the strongest healing crystal on this planet. It seems particularly appropriate that it lends itself to the color scheme of The Guildhouse at Ardais. The Sword symbolizes our strength and binds The Circle. The Amethyst enhances our energy and lends beauty to our ceremonies. Thus we include The Amethyst in our ceremonies as our Official Matrix Crystal and The Golden Sword as our emblem.
