To create a
character, you need to follow the following steps. 1. Choose a character type. There are three types. The first type is the physical character. This character relies on physical skills and abilities, including weapons use, piloting skills, and athletics. The second type is the Intellectual. This character relies on his knowledge and intelligence. These characters use what they know to outsmart the opponent. They also handle solving problems better. The third type is the performer or politician type. These characters rely on their personality and the ability to persuade others. Their success is through manipulation rather than force. 2. Upon choosing a type, the ability scores need to be placed. Place 66 points among the following abilities, with 13 the maximum, based on the Minimums and maximums of the character type you chose.
3. After placing you ability scores, distribute 13 points amongst your choice of skills. No skill can be raised more than three ranks. You will be given points to raise ranks as the adventure continues. The final value of any skill is the rank of the skill plus the ability score value attributed to it. So, a rank 3 Stealth and a Dexterity value of 12 gives a full Stealth value of 15. Any skills not bold faced can be used at the base ability score value. 4. Now you need to fill in any information regarding your character. What is the name of your character, the sex? Where is your character from? Age, height, weight, appearance? The more you have about your character, the better you will enjoy playing it. Try to keep in mind that the more you know of your character's background, the better. If your character is from or living in, say, France, make sure you have some idea of what it is like to live there. You don't need to be an expert, but it helps if your french character isn't acting like a Texas redneck. 5. Next, you need to send your character to The GM for final approval, and any questions. After we send you a response, you will be a part of the campaign. 6. Join Yahoogroups message groups. There are two to join. One is the official campaign. In this one, all messages sent are reviewed and editted, before they are uploaded. The second group is for out of Character discussions. This group will be moderated as well. But, most messages will be cleared automatically. There will be no advertising in this group. |

| (1) -- Each of these skills
can only be purchased up to rank 3 individually. After rank three, you must
specialize. The specialization is equal to the rank of the base skill when you
begin the specialization. At this point, it becomes a separate skill (Example:
Melee Weapons is rank 1 when you buy a specialization in Claidhmore. Claid is
now rank 2. If you raise Melee weapons after this, it doesn't affect Claid. If
you waited til rank 3 in Melee Weapons, then bought a rank in Claid, then it
would be rank 4. Once purchased as a separate skill, it remains a distinct
skill, and is raised separately.) (2) -- There are many forms of Unarmed Combat. For most people, the choice will be from: Wrestling, Boxing, or Kick-boxing. Specialized version of Unarmed combat inlude the various forms of Martial Arts. To choose a martial arts skill, you need to make a note in your character bio describing how you learned it. This will give us an idea of the skill training you went through. (3) -- When you purchase the language skill, you must choose a language. If you do not choose a language, you are considered a student of linguistics. To become proficient in a language, you will need to purchase it separately. Even if you have a rank of 50 in the Linguistics version, you still may find it hard to read/write/speak a language, unless you purchased a skill in it. The difference is, that after the initial creation of your character, you can only increase a language skill rank through teaching of the language from another person that possesses the language at a higher rank, or you can attempt to raise your own rank, if your linguistics rank is higher than the rank of the language you are learning. (4) -- These skills require extreme study. After you create your character, you may only raise these skills after sufficient chance to research the field, such as through schooling, or discovery of or possession of extra knowledge or training, to allow you to advance the skill. This does not mean you cannot advance these skills, but it does mean you have to have a reason for why you feel your abilities in these fields has improved (Time between adventures was spent in school, your career is in that field, or you spend a lot of time reading) (5) -- Faith is your religion. This may be important in situations where your drive to continue is wearing down, but if your faith is strong, you may push yourself harder. |
