Hordes of the Things is a fantasy wargame based on DBA and plays like a scaled down version of DBF.

The rules are flexible enough to encompass whatever your particular favourite flavour of fantasy is, the army lists provided go from Homeric epic to Discworld!

This game has captured the club's imagination and several club members have set about creating armies for this system. We've settled on a scale of 25-30mm for the minatures which means that those of us who play Warhammer can use our existing fantasy armies with just a little re-basing (which can be as simple as a bit of green card and some blue-tack!). We have chosen a base frontage of 80mm (instead of the 60mm recommended in the rule book) as this is twice the 15mm scale depth (it also allows 3 25mm Citadel slotta bases per stand).

The rulebook has an amusingly puritanical stand on what they regard as fantasy, however we have completely ignored this along with the suggested army lists, for us any army will do as long as it fits within the basic rules governing the choice of troops (total value of troop stands worth 3 or more points must not exceed 12 points).
