Part III: The Old Friend The sun is so beautiful that it brings out every good quality around it. The sky is a gorgeous sky blue and you can hear the birds chirping all around. Knightfall stands in the middle of it, observing the beautiful nature of it all. He cannot believe such beauty has ever bestowed upon this land but he is seeing it for himself. Unfortunately, he is not here just to look at the scenery, he is here to visit an old friend, a very OLD friend. He kneels down beside some piles of rocks and pulls out from his coat a single red rose. He can clearly see the day, that exact day, he becomes...immortal. The year was 137 BC, He is 22 years old. The place is ye olde England. Right in front of you was a castle and who should step out...but Knightfall himself. Of course, he wasn't known as Knightfall but...Sir Vincent of Winshire and a loyal Knight of King Frederick IV "Tis a bright day, is it not, Sir WIlliams?" Sir Vincent announced rather cheerfully. "Thou art happy today. Has thy grown ill?" Sir Williams pointed out "No, i am fine. Can't thy just look up and tell thyself tis is a bright day?" "Because it is you, Sir Vincent, tis cannot. What is with you, my good man?" "If thou must knoweth, thou shalt haveth. Tis I, Sir Vincent, has fallen in love..." "Ha ha! Is thy news true? Tis thee, of all thy peasants, has been hit by thy Cupid's arrow!?! Tis a sad day for all ye dogs you have to comfort" laughed Sir Williams. The news was so surprising...and so humerous that he actually dropped to the floor, trying to control himself. Sir Vincent, on the other hand, sees nothing amusing about it. "If it's thy humor you see in my life, try to see thy humor in my sword, when i jam it down your throat." replied Sir Vincent and pulling out his sword. Sir Williams pulls out his sword as well. It's not a true fight, but more of a friendly spar. Sir Vincent was smiling as he almost cut the skin of Sir Williams. They circle around each other, throwing out pathetic excuse of a swordsmanship. "So who is thy unlucky lady, Sir Vincent. Is it thy lady that works in thy bakery? You know how tis are fond of food." Sir WIlliams asked, still dodging the sword of Sir Vincent. "No, unfortunately, i see fondness in food, not in thy lady, nothing more. Tis Lady Catherine that has stolen my heart" replied Sir Vincent. "Lady Catherine? That maid that is always with thy queen? Ha! Good luck trying to win thy lady's heart. She is sought out by many men in thy town, as well as thy land." "Ahh! But luck is with me. For you see, yesterday, thy fair lady has kissed me. After thy queen had went to sleep, she snuck away and came to see me. Thy lady has fallen for me when i first came into thy castle." "Lucky you. If you haven't gotten her, i would of." "Ha! Try to get thy lady's heart, if you don't have any arms!" shouted Sir Vincent as he swung the sword right on top of his head, an inch closer and.... They continued to fight when the King himself comes out. Quickly, both Sir Williams and Sir Vincent stopped what they were doing, and bowed before the king. Knightfall can clearly hear the words coming out of the king, one that would change his life forever........ "Loyal Knights, we have disturbing news over yonder. Tis seems that thy barbarians from over thy mountains has waged war upon thy land. We must go and stop them."
