What are Ministers, Neighborhood Guides, and Host/Hostesses?
First of all, let me say that all of these volunteer positions are vital
to the individual districts and Fortune City as a whole. There are differences
in responsibilities and time requirements, but each is designed to help
each other in some form.
Ministers:
Ministers are members of the community who are here to help you out in
whatever way they can! They are volunteers who will pass on any information
from Fortune City staff onto you via your district's Forum, and they'll
help you out with any questions you may have about your Fortune City home.
Ministers are responsible for helping the entire district. Among their
many duties, ministers are expected to be available (many times this is
behind the scenes) for a minimum of 4 hours a day.
Current ministers in Rivendell are:

Neighborhood Guide Program:
The NGP (Neighborhood Guide Program) is a district program that allows
residents with limited time to help FC and their district. Volunteers are
assigned Rivendell streets to monitor & surf. They e-mail sites that
do not meet guidelines, and write the resident a nice e-mail to change
things...then they check in a week to see if it happened. If not then they
e-mail the URL to the head of the NG who will double check that the sites
do indeed need to be removed (sometimes people think a gal in a bathing
suit is pornography) and then send the URL and why the removal to the FC
administration who will then remove them. Also while surfing the assigned
streets, the NG recommends sites that they think should be considered for
the Rivendell District award and/or to be put as a featured site in the
district front page...these lists they send to the minister who ramrods
the award stuff. Finally they sign the guest books of those they visit
and say hi, glad you're at FC, etc. please visit the message board at :URL
or if no guest book available they send an e-mail instead. There is no
minimum time availability requirement to be a guide, but reports to the
NGPA should come in once a week.
In Rivendell, the Neighborhood Guide Coordinator is Lilith's Childe. Additional
information about the Guide program in Rivendell can be found at http://rivendell.fortunecity.com/lunar/161/
and if you have any questions Lilith's Childe can be contacted at [email protected]

Host/Hostess:
The newest group of volunteers in FC called Hostess/Host. They are autonomous
from ministers (meaning they report to the Host admin and not to the district
ministers) and mainly will be helping people get guestbooks and counters.
Hosts/Hostesses are asked to be available 5 hours a week. All site violations
which Host/Hostesses find are routed directly to the NGPA. It is not the
focus of their job but if they stumble on such a site that is what they
are to do. Residents with questions or who need help with counters or guestbooks
feel free to forward to: [email protected].
Currently, Rivendell's hosts are Riga Mortise and SonofGimp. More information
about the Host/Hostess program can be found at http://littleitaly.fortunecity.com/pisa/300/
