Welcome to the Tapestry of Burning Sands! I do heartily and heavily apologize for not updating this page sooner. A lot of things have occured which delayed updating the page for a long time. See the details below. But please browse and welcome back!
This page has won some awards! You should check them out! I now have three total, and I know of a fourth one that I was submitted for, but the person who submitted this page didn't get the URL typed correctly. Thanks to the person who submitted my page, I've corrected the URL, and with some luck I'll win it!
What was up with not updating the page?!?
I had to move, but not just a simple move. No,
I had to move three times(!) in one week. Then I changed computers,
so I had to download some software that I had a few minor problems to work
out with before I could get them to work to do some work on this! But
the primary reason this page was not updated in so long, was becaue I have
had some serious problems in getting LBS where I live. I had to virtually
kill three people just to get a box of boosters and the gaming stores I usually
shop have absolutely no starters whatsoever for Episode 2!
For some reason, LBS is not a popular game where I live,
though serveral people have certainly asked about it, bought it, and played
it when it first came out. There are a lot of L5R players here and
they have finally managed to get a night or two out of the week to play at
the local gaming stores in town. A few are interested in LBS, but no
so that they feel comfortable investing in LBS when most of the L5R players
in town have been in L5R since at least Emerald, and many of them have been
around since Imperial. The other two huge games out here are Magic
(gee, what a shock!) and Doomtown, which is played heavily. After several
weeks of looking, I finally found a store whose owner was so fed up with
stores that "do a half-ased job with cards," that he discounted
all the CCGs he carries by 30% - permanently! He can also typically
get what you need within 48 hours by special order. I got my starters
for Episode 2 all of 3 days ago - nearly in time for Episode 3! Guess
where I go for my cards now...
Shortly after that, my job, my parents, and my friends
seemed to conspire with one another to take away all my time to work on other
projects long promised and greatly overdue. But now, I have it all
done. It's all here.
I truly apologize for taking so long in getting an update
finished, but I think you will find that your patience has been rewarded.
I don't plan on ever taking this long to update ever again. So,
as of now, you can expect an update every 2-4 weeks, unless absolutely nothing
comes out that relates to the game.
Please see the Updates page for a listing of all the updates made on this page.
On September 14, 1998 at 6:11pm MDT, this page reached it's 1000th hit! Thank you very much for your support of this page!
You are visitor
to visit this page since the original upload date of August 2, 1998.
I am still looking for your decks! If you'd like me to post your favorite decks, please feel free to email them to me!
I am still trying out Uproar's Entertainment Triva here. This is a Java applet, so your browser will need to support Java to play it. It's quite a bit of fun and you can even win some cash from Uproar, so please give it a try! If you have any problems with this applet, please let me know and I will look into the problem.

The Jewel of the Desert Button can be used to bring you immediately back
to this opening page.
The Library contains a lot of information. In here
you will find: Burning Sands Fiction by Patrick Kapera (now 9 stories total!),

starter, The LBS Code 1.1 as adapted by Patrick Thomas Morgan, My Burning
Sands Message Board, and Links to other excellent Burning Sands sites and
resources.
The Divination section holds some nice information. Here you will
find: The Episode 1, 2, and 3 card text, a nice Javascript Quizlet and
some compiled results for it, a listing of all of the updates I've made to
this page since the day it went up on August 2, 1998, and the credits and
acknowledgements for this page's design.
The Sound Planning section is designed to be a storehouse
of information regarding the play of the game. Here you will find:
Deck Construction by Arovyn, Decks Made and Donated, My LBS Chat Room, and
my Card Focus. As of right now, though, the Card Focus only contains
the one card I did for The Kenbando, but once I have a little more free time,
I guarantee I will cover more cards.
