Alavirus, how could you not know Alavirus when you search for Callista. Perhaps that might be reveiled in time, but its not my place to tell you that bit of information. But I'll answer any questions that you may have for me....
So you have chosen to learn much more about the woman behind the Dampiel Callista.
The woman you seek has the mouth of a sailor, drunk on his rum. the attitude of a raging bull when provoked, and a wisdom far greater then her young age.
Her name is known as Mary for most, and for some she is known my pet names and nicknames. Russ calls her Angel, Deb refers to her as sis, as is likewise with Deb from Mary. But most people refer to her as Callista or Calli, and she prefers this name over her own anyday, it commands a sense of respect and admiration from those who have known her, and to those that don't, they learn it eventually.
Religion? *laugh* Well she was baptized Roman Catholic, but the hard years of her short life, and the insanity reigning her existance her pulled her from her fruitless relationship with any godly figures. She believes souly in most sciences with an eccentric edge. But if things are going badly she's known to curse "So help me if there are any gods in the skies above me, I swear I will kill you *insert name of the poor soul*" She is mostly tho an atheist with a belief in what surrounds her, nature, people, animals, life in general.
For a hobby, and occasionally as a job, she writes html and designs websites on the internet for both personal and business use. She has a strong love for graphic arts and photo-imaging, and within 2 years topped a class of 30 graphic arts students. She will occasionally write when the mood takes her, she also loves art, drawing and painting in many sorts of mediums.
Her coldness towards human society has made her an outcast from her social peers, usually placing her high above them. As a result she is a elitest, not many people gain her respect easily, and those that do can count themselves lucky, because to be frankly blunt, she despises the human race.
Quite a strong emotional place for such a young woman, but she has many reasons backing her feelings. But the good side of this is she has surrounded herself in a few close friends she'd give her life for, instead of many meaningly associates.
A lover of creativity and role playing, she has created many characters over her almost 3 1/2 years online, both good and bad, and those that linger between like Callista. And offline she has played in many LARPs and theater groups as Callista and many other characters. Next to her warrior character, her favorites would be her malkavians, for she holds them dear to her heart.
Not truely old enough to have lived in the time of the old schools goths, she cannot truely consider herself a goth, but her avid love for all things of the Dark Ages and Renaissance show in both her favorite style of dress, and through her character of Callista. But the love for the Dark Ages and the Renaissance is not all that affects her creativity, she is always reading on ancient Greece, Egypt, Roman, and the ancient Orient. So her love of history and its sophisticated beauty shows in her demeanor, and in her own sophisication and culture, echoing this into her characters.
But as to being a goth, if one asked her she would say:
"If you took the word goth back to its roots, back to its creation, you find people with a love for art, a people with a love of culture. In that sense I am goth, but if you ask now, you are barraged with aqusations of vampirism, sadisism, sodomy, satanism, blood worship, cult role players, and kinder-goths who know nothing of the true meaning of the word. All people with problems addressing their own realities, I have no problem finding my reality, who I am. I know who I am, I am a cultured woman with a love for the art and sophisication of a period long gone. So yes I am goth, but do not confuse me with those that are confused."
