CHAPTER 4

Chun Li dazedly awoke clutching her head. She let out several moans as she tried to shake off the dizziness.
Once regaining her senses, she quickly swung her head around the room, but grabbed her head immediately as she discovered that the abrupt motion made things worst. After rubbing her temples for some time, she slowly raised her head and analyzed her surroundings.
*Where am I…*
She tried to think back to what she remembered before, but couldn't recall much. Her memory seemed vague and blurry.
*I…I…remember…being held…then……darkness*
Chun Li smothered her hands over her face. She wanted to cry, but couldn't…or rather wouldn't.
*Find a way out of here first okay!*
She demanded herself mentally. Standing up, she realized that this was definitely not a room.
*A…a cell…*
Now terrified, she cried. Leaning her back against the concrete wall, she slid back onto the cold floor.
Tears streamed uncontrollably down her face as she hid herself in the dark corner.
*Ryu where are you…..*
Curling up with knees brought to her face, she wished that she was home.

Three worried souls sat tensely in the library, not moving a muscle. Ryu tightly shut his eyes and tried, once again, to make sense out of the situation. He brought his elbows to his knees, clasped his hands together, and buried his face in them. His hair was a mess from the constant rubbing he did out of frustration. Finally, he spoke again.
"So, she's just gone…"
Ken closed his eyes and nodded slightly.
"Yeah…"
"AUUUGGGGGHHHHH!!!!"
Letting out an angry yell, Ryu stood up and flipped the coffee table onto the floor. Sakura took in a sharp breath of horror, as Ken remained expressionless. Ryu paced across the room to the window and stared.
"Isn't there anything we could do?" Sakura asked, wondering if she should have spoken at all.
Ken brought his vision to the ceiling. Then, let out a long breath of air.
"The idiots they call detectives said that they've been doing everything they can. We're 'supposedly' going to receive a phone call once something shows up."
Ryu stared out into the endless blue sky. He lightly brought his fist to pound on the window, just enough not to damage it. That didn't help at all…he wanted nothing more than to break something.
*Are you okay Chun? Please…'please' be okay…*
He stared at the window as he caught a glimpse of himself from the window…a solitary tear fell.
The phone rang.

CHAPTER 5-

~ San Diego, California ~

Ken rushed out the chair and was the first to the phone. He tossed a glance at the ceiling and said a 'very' quick prayer. Taking a couple of breaths, he calmly picked up the receiver.
"Ken Masters here."

---Ken's POV---

"Ken Masters here."
An exasperated voice answered. "Yes Mr. Masters? I have information concerning the Li case."
"Well? What is it? Have you found her?" Ken was becoming extremely impatient. He could hear telephones ringing in the background, blurred by streaming voices. Then hearing a door slam, the noise ceased.
"We checked Miss Li's apartment sir." Then, the voice hesitated.
Ken was way beyond impatient now. "AND?!!!"
"The place…it was…completely torn apart, sir."
There was silence on the other end.
"Sir? Mr. Masters are you there?"
Ken tightly shut his eyes and forced the pain away.
"Yes I am still here." He commanded himself to stay strong.
"Sir, we found something at the scene that---."
Ken's eyes shot open. "What?!"
"A-a tape. Addressed to you and unidentified 'Ryu'…sir. We have not yet been able to make contact with-"
Ken cut him off. "Have you listened to it?"
"No sir, we decided to wait for your consent."
Ken thought for a moment. "Detective, you do not have my consent. Ryu and I will both arrive in Hong Kong momentarily. Keep the tape confidential and allow 'no one' privilege to access it."
"But---"
"No objections."
There was no response.
Raising his voice, he spoke again. "Detective! Do I make myself clear?!"
"I-I understand, Mr. Masters. No one will be able to."
Ken hung up the phone. Placing his hands flat on the table to hold his weight, he lowered his head. Ryu, who had been right by Ken's side, placed a hand on his shoulder. He looked at Ryu. Just by outer appearances, it was apparent that he had not moved a muscle ever since the call came.
"Well?" Ryu was about to have a breakdown if he was kept in the dark about any more details.
Ken looked his best friend in the eye; determination was locked on to his expression.
"We're going to Hong Kong."

~?????? ~

Chun Li's tears slowly subsided. She heard a creak and looked up. The door to the cell had been opened.
Someone emerged from the darkness, out of the shadows. Her eyes widened, as she scrunched back further into the corner with horror.
"You…."
