Letting Go

Part 7

"Ryu."
He heard his name being called out in a longing voice. He looked around…fog. He couldn't see clearly.
"Ryu."
He heard his name again. Turning in circles, he reached out his hand in each direction. After a few moments, he withdrew, but something quickly latched on to it…another hand.
Soft.
"Ryu…help me."
The voice was drastically fading. He gripped it tightly. His mind screamed back.
Don't you dare let go!
The grip loosened…he felt a part of him diminishing. As if holding on for dear life, he pulled with all his might. This time with all his strength…success. Feeling a body close to his…he wrapped his arms protectively around it.

All of the sudden, the fog slowly crept away. Ryu looked down as a petite head lifted up. Brown clashed with brown as the two eyes met. He blinked several times. Without warning, his arms felt as if they were
loosing stability. 'She' was disappearing. He panicked.
"NO! Don't go!"
He reached and grabbed her image, as she vanished right before his eyes.
"Help me Ryu…please…don't give up…"
She was gone. Falling to his knees, he pounded the floor with all his might. He opened his eyes as he heard a voice.
"You have to help me…"
"CHUN LI NOOO!!!!!!!"

Ryu eyes rapidly shot open. He looked around, but quickly covered his eyes from the effects of the gas.
He quickly got up, but was forced down.
The plane is going to crash!
Using his forearm to shield his eyes momentarily, Ryu made his way toward the cockpit. The pilot was slumped in the chair. Not exactly knowing what he was doing, Ryu pushed a few random buttons….nothing happened. Cautiously taking the pilot stick, he shifted it upward as the plane began to regain the proper position. After a few moments, droopiness was catching up to him.
Fight it! Chun Li needs you.
Physically shaking it off, he flipped the auto pilot switch. Struggling to get up, he staggered to the back of the plane. Coming across a blanket, he rapidly made his way toward the air vent. Removing the vent, Ryu placed the cloth inside it. Causing the gas to push the blanket forward against the vent, ceasing the flow to the room.
The haze visually seemed to clear.

"Who could have done that?" Ken asked fuming.
Ryu clenched and unclenched his fist in a sequence. "Whoever has Chun Li."
As a sign of understanding, Sakura and Ken shook their heads.
"So…they must know that we're coming…" Sakura stated, unsure.
"I think that that's what they meant for us to do."

"LET GO!" Chun Li struggled within the strong grip she was being held in.
"I don't think so." Vega said, making his grip only tighter.
He pushed her against the wall, bodies pressed together. She felt cold hands moving up her sides.
"Hi-ya!"
With a swift motion, she brought her knee up toward the air. Grimacing, Vega stepped back, clutching his side. He grabbed her by the neck as she gave a yelp. Throwing her against the wall, he menacingly approached her.
"Now, I get what I've always wanted."
