Street Fighter II
Chapter 1

Singapore, one year later
Ryu walked through the small village, looking for a place to stay before he continued on his journey. It was coming up to 10 o'clock in the evening, and Ryu was already tired from a previous encounter. A young man named Jinsawa, who was proficient in Tae Kwon Do, had challenged the champion in order to test his skills. After a fight lasting 7 minutes, Jinsawa, deciding that Ryu was way too challenging, decided to quit while he was still conscious, even if he was only barely. Ryu's hurricane kick was way too powerful, causing a few teeth to be lost, and a period of concussion to occur. After an honorable bow, and a few words of encouragement, Ryu went on his way to the small seaside village, where he would find a transport to Hong Kong.
The village was in a slight state of disrepair, thanks largely to Bison's crime syndicate Shadowloo, which had obviously spread out its hand of evil even on this little village. Although Singapore was not as badly affected as Thailand, and even though Bison was now dead, Shadowloo was still operational, even though it was now out of control and dysfunctional.
Interpol was still a long way away from cleaning Bison's evil empire it seemed, although they were getting there, thanks largely to the efforts of Chun Li, Guile and his friend Charlie from the USAF, Cammy, who was now working for MI6, and a few other Street Fighters who was involved in the 'clean-up', as Chun Li put it. Ryu, although not intentionally wanting to get involved, found himself involved, thanks mostly to Chun Li, whom he had fought in the second Street Fighter tournament he had participated in, 6 years ago. It was thanks to Ryu himself that the clean-up was able to happen.
Finding a cheap inn to stay for the night, Ryu looked around his room, a basic one bed room with a sink, shower and desk. It wasn't 4-star, but Ryu, who was used to sleeping on the road, found it acceptable. After putting his duffel bag down, Ryu sat on the bed, thinking about past events.
After destroying Bison in his last major fight, Chun Li told him that Guile, Charlie, and a few other US pilots had completely destroyed Bison's base of operations. It was now over a year since that time, and already, Ryu had witnessed some alarming changes. Ken, Ryu's best friend and rival, had married his girlfriend Eliza, where he had luckily arrived at Ken's home in Los Angeles to find out about it. After attending the wedding, where of course he had the honour of being the best man, Ryu had found out about news of other friends that he had met in his journey around America and Asia. Fei Long was now an international film star, with a string of awards under his belt. His Bushin ninja friend Guy he did not know about, he hadn't heard from him in a long time. Major Guile and Major Charlie Nash were promoted to Colonel after their successful strike on Shadowloo. Sakura had gone home, but was sure to keep following him around, no matter where he went. And then there was Chun Li. Chun had remained in Interpol, continuing to follow her late father's footsteps in solving organized crime.
Ryu remembered Chun Li's kindness to him ever since they had first met. They had helped each other a lot over the past years, although he hadn't seen anything of her ever since that fight with Bison. Ryu had left after being congratulated and thanked by Chun Li, Guy and Ken. He was never one to stand around in praise and adulation.
Tomorrow, Ryu thought, I'll go to Hong Kong. I haven't been there for a long time. Who knows, maybe I'll see Chun Li again. Ryu fell asleep, thinking about his friend.

Meanwhile, in Hong Kong
"FREEZE!"
Chun Li ran after the suspect, a Berretta 92 in her hand. There were other Interpol agents chasing after him, but she knew she was definitely the fastest. She'd catch up to him hopefully in no time. An anonymous tip-off led Interpol to a night-time drugs deal in an abandoned warehouse on the eastern side of Hong Kong, A pretty successful drugs bust, except that one of the sellers managed to escape through a door which was 'somehow' not covered by the police. Chun Li took it upon herself to chase that man before he could tell any one about the bust, which would probably cause some sort of riot and anarchy within the city of Hong Kong itself.
The suspect ran down the streets of Hong Kong, trying desperately to get away from the cop as fast as possible. He looked back, saw the woman still pursuing him, and kept running desperately. He knew what to do though. As long as she didn't catch up to him, he would run to a couple of 'friends' he contacted with a bleeper. She would never survive the beating that would follow.
Chun Li ducked, weaved and jumped through a crowd of pedestrians looking at the chase as it was going on. She couldn't fire. Although she was a brilliant martial artist, she wasn't the greatest shot in the world, and there was a chance she would easily hit a pedestrian instead. So she kept on running.
She called out to her target. "FREEZE means STOP!!". Soon the number of pedestrians were going down, until finally, there was only herself and the suspect. The man turned right. Got him now, she thought, that road's a dead-end alleyway. She turned and faced the suspect.
"Alright pal, I got you now. Just put your hands up, stay still, and I won't shoot you, OK?" Chun Li realized that the man was actually smiling. A small wry smile, barely visible, but still a smile nonetheless. Chun Li saw a flash of movement to her left.
The gun was kicked out of her hand by another man, who leaped out from behind a trashcan. Looking round, Chun Li saw six men surrounding her, including the suspect, and the gun-kicker. Four of them were armed, two of them with knives, two with clubs.
"Shit," she cursed. It's a goddamn trap.
There was a moments pause. Chun Li surveyed the scene, looking where each man was, and moved into her fighting stance. Suddenly, one of the men lunged at her with the knife in his hand. Chun Li blocked the attack with her right arm, then lunged her left palm towards his face connecting with his nose, instantly breaking it. While he staggered in pain, she whipped her right foot out into a backward mid-roundhouse kicking one of the club wielders in the ribs. The man staggered into the other knife wielder, both landing into a heap onto the floor. The other clubber swung his club towards Chun Li's head, while the gun-kicker launched a mid kick at her back. Blocking the kick, Chun Li instantly ducked under the club, doing a forward summersault roll, Chun lifted her self of the floor with her shoulders and hands, then kicked upwards into the jaw of the martial artist with both feet. The man blocked with his hands, cushioning some of the force, but not enough to stop him from staggering back. Meanwhile, Chun Li, falling on to the floor, launched a floor sweep with her right foot, knocking the second clubber onto the floor, whose head hit a the floor with a hard thud, leaving him dazed and concussed.
As she turned to face the other two armed thugs, she suddenly felt a kick in the back. She'd forgotten about the suspect! Staggering forward, she didn't have time to react quickly to a club thrown heavily at her leg. She tripped up, but managed to land on her hands with her legs up in the air in a perfect handstand. As the knife-man launched a lunge at her legs, her legs separated into a splits, the front leg knocking the knife out of the attackers hand. She then started to spin, letting her hands up from the floor as she spun upside down.
"SPINNING ROUND KICK!" she cried, kicking the disarmed men in the ribs, knocking them back to the wall. They slid down, unconscious.
Chun Li turned. There were only three men left now, one knife wielder, the martial artist , and the suspect. She taunted them. "Hmph, six men being beaten by a girl, surely you can do better than that!" The knife-man responded with a diagonal slash towards her chest. Blocking the attack with a sideways block, She slipped on of her spiked bracelets off her wrist and launched it at the attacker, hitting him in the throat. As the man gasped, Chun Li kicked, sending him skywards into a trash can. The martial artist launched a flying kick, his favorite attack, it seemed. Idiot, Chun Li thought. Summoning her Ki, she launched a fireball into her target. "KIOKEN!"
The man, hit full force from the fire ball, was knocked out of the sky, landing in a heap onto the floor. Instantly, Chun Li ran straight towards the now-scared suspect. The suspect suddenly felt numerous blows to his head and chest, as Chun Li launched her Lightning Kick. When it was over, The man fell down, leaving a gaping dent the size of the man in the brick wall Chun Li had kicked him into.
Chun Li surveyed the damage, then contacted headquarters. "This is Detective Chun Li. I've got six men here that need a lift to jail." Giving her location and details, Chun Li signed off.
She then felt a pain throbbing in her back where she was kicked. "I'm getting sloppy. Ryu wouldn't have been even touched."
Wait a minute. Why am I thinking of Ryu suddenly?
She pushed the thought out of her head as she returned to her duty. "You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can, and will be used in evidence against you in the court
of law…."
