Street Fighter 2

The White Angel: part 4
Four nights later, a dozen police cars were near Wan Chai road
in Causeway bay, along with a police van. Chun Li stepped out of
the car, with Cammy stepping out with her from the backseat.
A couple of the policemen questioned the idea of allowing the
eighteen year old girl to be there, but they didn't question any
further when the chief told them that she was here as part of an
important operation. Besides, when they saw her, they kept their
mouths shut and just looked at the pretty lady. Cammy's admirers
went largely unnoticed.
Chun Li was part of the operation to flush the drugs gang out.
The police had covered every exit available, so if her squad was
spotted, they would have to fight back, there was no hope of
escape.
Chun Li, who was wearing jeans and a t-shirt, a change from her
traditional kung-fu dress uniform, was busy strapping the bullet-proof
vest around her body. Cammy was watching her as she pulled up the
velcro.
"Are you going to be all right?"
"Sure. I've done this sort of thing many times before."
"Really?" Cammy asked without the slightest hint of
conviction.
"Okay, once before. But, hey. I survived!"
Cammy's face remained unconvinced, as Chun Li put the gas mask on.
Along with a number of police agents, Chun Li carried her
silenced Heckler and Koch MP5K, her Beretta 92F holstered as a
backup weapon. The team walked silently up the stairs, making
sure to keep the noise down to as little as possible. The steps
creaked as the Interpol agents crept up the stairs.
One of the Interpol agents carried a HK69A1 grenade launcher
which would be used to smoke out the gang members before the
agents would storm in and arrest them.
"Easy, boys. We're almost there." Chun Li quietly said
through her intercom.
They came up to the door the stall-holder informed them that
housed the drug dealers. Chun Li raised her MP5K to her head,
muttered a few words to the agent with the grenade launcher, and
then stood back. The grenade launcher cocked the gun so that the
tube was open, then placed a non-lethal round into the chamber
with a satisfying 'shoom'. He closed the chamber, raised the gun,
and then kicked the door. Immediately he fired the grenade into
the apartment, the smoke filling up all the rooms. Then the
agents burst in.
"FREEZE! DROP YOUR WEAPONS!" Chun Li cried as they
stormed in.
They ran in, checked all of the rooms
..but no-one was there.
Chun Li was surprised and annoyed. She was sure that this was the
room the stall-holder told Interpol about. An agent saw the drugs
gang walk into the building earlier this evening.
"Where the hell are they?"
Inside the van, Cammy watched as the agents searched everywhere
for the drug-dealers, but couldn't find anything.
"Chun Li," the lieutenant who was guiding them asked,
"are you sure this is the right place?"
"Positive. Arthers just found a pile of Heroin in one of the
drawers, and there was some cocaine on the table when we burst
anyone, we just can't find the owners."
Suddenly, Cammy noticed that from one of the cupboards, she
thought she saw a person with a gasmask holding a gun. Her eyes
widened as she did see him move towards Lee. She pointed at the
screen.
"Sir, there's someone in the cupboard with a gun about to
attack Lee."
"Wha? LEE, there's someone behind you!"
The man shot Lee three times in the back, and the agent slumped
down. The rest of the agents suddenly ran to where Lee was. Chun
Li launched into a flying kick, kicking the man direct into the
head. Suddenly, more drug dealers burst inside, and the agents
were surrounded.
"It's a goddamn trap!" realised Chun Li. A gunfight
ensued.
Several of the agents were injured, and couldn't fight, two more
agents were killed. A couple of the drug dealers were shot, but
they had the upper hand with the surprise. In the end, two of the
drug dealers were left, and Chun Li, although she tried to fight
them off, was overpowered in the end.
Cammy ran out of the van door, to see Chun Li being escorted out
of the apartment with the two gang-members. One had a hold of
Chun Li, her arms tied behind her back, and her Beretta pointed
to her head.
"Don't do anything stupid, or the pretty lady's gonna get it
in the head."
The lieutenant held up the megaphone to his mouth. "What do
you want?"
"We want safe passage out of here. And we want to keep this
lady to do what we like to her."
"You'd better not, you bastards." answered Chun Li.
The man holding her twisted her arm. "Shut up!"
A rage entered Cammy as she saw what these two gang-members were
doing to Chun Li. She started to remember something she could do
when she was under Bison's control.
She leapt over the police barrier and ran towards the gun-members.
The gun member who held the gun instantly recognized the young
girl. Unknown to the stall-keeper, he was also alive, although
seriously beaten when Shadowloo betrayed his gang. Immediately,
he felt scared.
"No! Get away!" He fired at the girl, but fired so
wildly he missed every shot. The girl immediately jumped into the
air. She spun her body with both her feet outstretched.
"CANNON DRILL!"
Cammy's feet twisted the gang-member's flesh as she drilled into
his face. The force of the attack instantly made him unconscious.
Cammy turned to face the other gang-member, who fired wildly
before he got a clean shot. However, Cammy spun round, dodging
the bullet, the backfisted the drug-dealer, who fell to the floor.
Cammy sat on top of him, and punched his face, crying out with
rage as she punched his head to unconsciousness. After several
punches, Chun Li grabbed Cammy's arm.
"Cammy, it's over now. I'm alright."
Cammy started sobbing at what she had done. Chun Li held onto her,
calming her down.
She remembers her fighting capabilities!
"When did you contact Shadowloo?"
"We contacted them in March, three years ago. They said they
wanted to buy some heroin from us. We arranged to meet some of
their operatives in an alleyway just outside of Causeway Bay."
Chun Li and another detective was in the interrogation room with
the gang-member whose face Cammy had recently twisted badly. His
right cheek had been covered by a large cotton swab taped on with
plasters.
He had agreed to confess everything for a shorter prison sentence.
"How did you contact them? Did they phone you, or did they
contact you another way?"
"Well, they are a big drugs syndicate, you know? We were
just dying to get the money that Shadowloo was offering. They
were gonna give us 1,000,000 dollars, American. We were planning
to go to America and live the rest of our lives in luxury. So we
managed to find one of their agents in"
"So, what happened?"
"We were betrayed. Shadowloo was planning to just kill us
and keep the smack for themselves. They sent that bitch who was
with you to assassinate us."
Cammy? How dare he!
"That girl, a hell of a lot younger than my guys, killed
almost everyone except two of us. They other guy escaped with the
car, I was knocked unconscious, and remained hidden. That bitch
ruined my career!"
At that point, Chun Li slammed her hand down on the table. "Don't
you dare call her a bitch, asshole. Unlike you, she had no power
over herself then. You were responsible by ruining thousands of
lives with your drugs!"
"Oh. I didn't know that a Shadowloo agent could be such a
friend of an Interpol detective."
Chun Li was about to hit him, but the other detective put a hand
in her way.
"Easy, Chun Li. He's just trying to wind you up."
"Succeeding, it seems." added the suspect. "Let me
tell you something, detective. The girl who is your friend, she
is nothing more than a wolf in sheep's clothing. She may have the
body of a sweet, innocent girl, and she may not remember what she
was like before, but inside, she is still the same monster with
the same blood on her hands. You can't tame her, even if you
tried."
Chun Li decided then to end the conversation there. "Interview
suspended at
.1:18 am."
As she turned to leave, the suspect spoke. "Detective."
She stopped, but didn't turn.
"Once a wolf, always a wolf."
Chun Li drove back, Cammy asleep on the passenger side. The
interview kept filling her head with thoughts.
A wolf in sheep's clothing? I couldn't tame her even if I
tried, huh?
She looked at Cammy. She looked peaceful, her eyes shut, and
her face calm, as if she was having a calm dream instead of her
usual nightmares.
"What's the real truth inside you, Cammy?" she said
quietly.
The last words of the gang member echoed inside her mind.
Once a wolf, always a wolf.....
