Street Fighter 2

The White Angel: part 9

Cammy ran in anger towards the Chinese detective, leaping into the air with a flying kick, which forced Chun Li to duck. As Cammy landed, she immediately jumped back up, somersaulted, and landed a heel to the floor. Chun Li rolled herself forward to avoid Cammy's attack, turning round while kneeling to face her.
"Cammy. Stop this!"
"Negative. Target must be destroyed."
Cammy's monotone voice confirmed Chun Li's fears that she wasn't the girl she'd known. She had reverted back to the mindless assassin of Shadowloo.
Cammy stood with her back facing Chun Li, as the detective stood up herself. Suddenly, Cammy jumped backward and spun her fist round, slamming it into Chun Li's face. As Chun Li jerked back from the attack, Cammy followed up by punching her in the stomach, then uppercutting her doubled-up body. Chun Li fell to the floor, a small cut evident to where Cammy had back-fisted her. She groaned as she tried to get up, feeling the blood from her cut slowly dripping down her cheek.
She didn't have a chance to react as Cammy flipped over her, then kicked her in the back. Chun Li fell forward, a spasm of pain spreading through her back as she fell. Cammy slowly walked around her as Cammy picked herself up on her hands and knees. The English assassin landed a kick to Chun Li's stomach, and the Chinese detective jerked upwards, gasping as the air was kicked out of her.
From the platform, Bison called out to ground. "First minute's up!"
Chun Li looked up with horror as the Shadowloo agent next to Bison raised his FAMAS and fired directly into the head of one of the SEALS. He died instantly.
Rage went through Chun Li, but guilt even more. She had just indirectly killed one of her own. She had to end this, but she couldn't, not to her friend.
"Ca…Cammy..." She gasped out as she tried to get up. "Don't you……remember me?"
Cammy didn't respond as she launched herself into the air and cannon drilled into her chest, forcing Chun Li backwards screaming in pain as she felt one of her ribs crack. As Chun Li staggered back, Cammy followed by performing a front kick, with smashed into Chun Li's chin and sent her skyward. Chun Li crashed to the floor as Cammy flipped herself back to her feet in mid-air. As soon as she landed, Cammy ran to Chun Li, grabbed the detective's belt and collar, and the spun her around, releasing her into a powerful throw. Chun Li landed on the floor, her mouth spitting a small droplet of blood.
Bison laughed at the way Cammy was fighting Chun Li with no remorse whatsoever. The assassin was still under control, and he loved every minute of it.
"There's no point in not fighting, Miss Li. Like I said, you are in a no-win position. You might as well just give up and just die quickly."
Chun Li wouldn't give up though. Not while Bison was still alive, and certainly not when she had a young girl to protect. Despite the pain in her ribs, she staggered onto her feet.
Cammy stood still as Chun Li tried to get up. She had no memory of anything, but something was trying to force something into her.
"We wanted to save you from all this. Remember?"
"Ne…..negative."
Bison cried out in anger as he watched the two women just standing still. "Get on with the fight! Or I'll kill two of them!"
She was running out of time. She had to act fast.
"Don't you remember when you told me about your past. You opened your heart out to me, about everything that happened to you."
"I do not have a past." Cammy said solemly.
"You do! This isn't you. You are a beautiful young lady who can fight all of this."
Cammy put her hands to her head and fell to her knees. "I…I….can't."
Bison called to his agent. "Get ready to shoot those two." He said, pointing to two of the SEALS.
Chun Li saw the agent raise his FAMAS and prepare to fire. But still she did not fight. She continued speaking to Cammy. "You can. Remember this?"
Chun Li put her hand behind her and pulled out the tape recorder from her belt. She pressed the play button, and the words of Cammy's memories were repeated to everyone in the room.
"Over the years, the pain increases as they inject more powerful drugs into me. All this time, I am crying, and they beat me for it."
"Stop it!" cried Cammy, as she tried to push the words from her mind.
"When I was twelve, there were just two doctors in there with me. My crying had since ceased, there are very few tears left to shed. One of the doctors leaves. He switches off a machine, and then walks up to me.
With what little strength I had left in me, I spat into his face. He withdrew a knife from his pocket and slashed my face. He then began to rape me after covering my mouth with a cloth."

Chun Li wouldn't stop. Cammy's voice continued from the recorder.
"Then a man in a red suit walked in, he wore a cap bearing a skull with wings. He saw what the man was doing. He grabbed him by the throat, and broke it with a twist of his hand. He then looked at me, and stroked my face, wiping off the remaining tears I had left. At that point, my emotions died, and the young girl died with them."
Cammy looked up at the person who the description was talking about, Bison. She put a face to those words, and realised that she could remember the event. Tears were in her eyes as she begged Chun Li to stop. But she wouldn't.
"This is what happened. I hope that the families of those that I killed can forgive me. But I know, that I must do something so that they can."
"NOOO!" Cammy ran towards Chun Li with rage and fear, with tears, as the memories of her past came back with a great pain.
Chun Li had to do something quick before Cammy could attack. She dropped the recorder and pulled her hands back, trying to channel the inner energy inside her.
The Kioken was still relatively new to her, a move that she had only just learnt from Ryu's Hadoken. At best, she could only channel a weak amount of energy out of her hands. However, it was all she wanted to use.
"KIOKEN!!"
Chun Li pushed her hands forwards and released her energy. The energy ball slammed into Cammy, and the British girl fell backwards.
Cammy cried out as her final memories surged within her from that attack, and she fell.
For a while, she was motionless. Then, her arms moved.
She looked at the Chinese girl. She remembered her. Chun Li, her friend.
She looked up at the man in the red uniform. M.Bison, her enemy.
She could remember everything.
"Cammy!" Bison cried out to her, "Kill that bitch, now!"
Cammy wouldn't kill her, but she realised that Bison didn't know that she had recovered. She could use this to her advantage.
"Affirmative."
Chun Li stepped back in horror as Cammy stood up and walked towards her. Cammy suddenly changed direction and walked briskly towards one of the SEALS, grabbing a couple of grenades from him. She walked back to a defenseless Chun Li, in pain from her broken rib.
"I shall obey."
She winked at Chun Li as she pulled out the pins from the grenades, holding the hammers so that the grenades weren't primed. Chun Li finally caught onto the act, and smiled.
As Cammy reached her hand out to grab Chun Li, she suddenly turned round and threw the grenade in Bison's direction. Bison's face angered.
"Shit," he said, as he channeled his psycho power and disappeared from the room.
As Bison suddenly teleported away, the grenade exploded, sending the agents near where Bison was originally standing flying over the banister. Cammy threw the other grenade to her left, and the other grenade exploded, killing the agents there.
As the other agents fired their FAMASs at Cammy, she dived, rolling on the floor, to where a solitary FAMAS from one of the dead Shadowloo agents was lying, and fired towards the rest. Surprised, the agents fell, and in a matter of seconds, the room was cleared of Shadowloo agents.
Cammy stood still, holding the rifle in her hand.
With some effort, Chun Li managed to get to her feet. She painfully walked towards the motionless Cammy.
"Cammy?"
The young girl began to cry, dropping the FAMAS to the floor.
"Chun…..I'm….I'm so sorry."
As soon as Chun Li put a hand on her shoulder, Cammy turn round and hugged Chun Li, crying. Chun Li held Cammy tight, happy that she was back, but feeling so guilty at leaving her alone.
"It's my fault, Cammy. I shouldn't have left you alone. I'm the one who should apologise."
Dallas, after picking up Chun Li's gun, laid a hand on Chun Li's shoulder. "Miss Li, we should get going. We've still got the hostages to free."
"You're rig….ugh!"
Chun Li grimaced as she felt a pang of agony in her side.
"You alright?" Dallas asked, concerned.
"I think I cracked one of my ribs in that fight."
Cammy stepped back, shocked. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, Cammy."Chun Li said with a smile. "I just won't be able to fight with you guys for a while."
Dallas turned towards Cammy. "Alright, I'll help you take her to the evacuation point. The rest of you guys, find the hostages, and bring them out."
"Yes, sir!"
"Alright, move out!"
The SEALS ran in one direction while Dallas, Chun Li and Cammy went in another, Cammy holding Chun Li up, towards what they thought would be safety.
