Hojo ran into the room at the sound of shattering. "My
lab what have you done!??" he shouted, but when he realized
that only the needles were broken he calmed down. After all he
had made plenty more.
Rufus shook his head. "Help me get her into this wheel chair
would you?"
Hojo nodded and helped Rufus lift the woman. "Wow she is
really heavy!" Hojo said.
Rufus nodded. "She is a warrior remember? From battle after
battle muscles have built, that's why it hurt so when she smacked
you."
Hojo rubbed his head as if she had smacked him all over again.
"I should remember that for next time. Perhaps I should duck"
Hojo smiled. "Well what happened?" he then inquired.
"I injected her, and she collapsed onto the floor."
Rufus explained, and glanced over at Lacey to make sure no glass
shards had penetrated her skin. Hojo nodded. "The special
one?"
Rufus again nodded.
"Yes that stuff is quite strong. She wont remember anything,
unless you wish it" Hojo said.
"Yes, that was the point.." Rufus replied. They both
wheeled Lacey to her chamber where Gea lay still as if unmoved.
Hojo and Rufus lifted Lacey to her bed and left.
Once they were outside Hojo barked some orders to the guards.
"I want to be here the second she wakes up." Rufus said.
The four bulky guards nodded and took their place in front of the
door.
Lacey leaned over, until her head was right next to Gea's. "Gea
are you OK, I saw you standing in the doorway" Lacey
carefully whispered.
Gea opened her tear soaked eyes. "You are OK? But how, he
gave you that stuff to make you forget."
Lacey shook her head. "No sweeting, your father got a needle
of water instead he misread the label." Gea laughed, yes
indeed her father was a real idiot. "But you must act as if
it was the real stuff, that way I can work on getting us out of
here."
Gea nodded and got up. She carefully walked over and got a wet
rag from the bathroom. "Here to convince them of a side
affect." she said and placed the rag on Lacey's forehead.
Then both lay down and fell asleep.
Kristin finally finished repairing the small house in the city of
Ancients. The house was of a dome shape, and had a garden out
front. Everything in the house was left as if it were brand new,
and used yesterday. The roof needed repairing, and Kristin had
just finished doing just that.
Now it was time to set her traps. Kristin wiped the sweat that
dripped from her forehead. "These darn houses are a pain to
fix. Oh well, not much time wasted." Kristin said aloud, as
if someone were standing beside her.
Anyone who looked at Kristin and Lacey together could easily tell
they were sisters. Kristin had Lacey's dark, long brown hair, and
they both were about the same height. They both also had similar
mouths, noses, and tiny faces. Kristin reached up to brush a
small hair from her eyes. That she thought was the only way to
tell them apart. Kristin's eyes were a bright violet, and Lacey's
were more green-blue, or mako as they called it.
Kristin shook her head. Lacey used to have the same stunning
violet eyes, but after she was showered with mako(as all were
when they entered soldier) she had gained the same deep mako eyes
of the warriors.
A pity, Kristin thought.
The violet eyes of the girls showed the last traces of the
surviving ancients or "Cetra." Their parents were so
young when their city was deserted that no one could remember why
they left and so the cities secret was lost. No one even to this
day knew why the cetra left. Kristin smiled at the thought of her
parents. Oh how she missed them so....
When they died, Kristin was on a dig in the City of the Ancients.
Her little sister had stayed home with their parents. Kristin
shook her head. She remembered getting the news from a Shin-Ra
messenger that her parents had died in an awful explosion. And
never knew what happened to her sister...
"Until now," Kristin sighed. Carefully Kristin left her
new "house" and went to prepare her layouts. She walked
up to the giant oak tree in front of the house. Since the road
leading to the house collapsed no one could get to it without
having to scale the large cliff in front, but Kristin figured it
would be the safest place to hide.
Slowly she started her descent down the cliff on the rope she had
tied to the giant oak. Once she reached the bottom she untied her
harness and walked toward the path that lead out of the city.
This pass must be carefully trapped.....
Lacey finally convinced herself that she had faked sleep long
enough and sat up, Gea followed a few minutes after receiving a
nod from Lacey. Gea rose and walked up to the large door that
enclosed the room. Carefully she opened it and told the guard
that the "mistress" has awakened. Quickly all four
rushed to get Rufus.
Rufus sat patiently in his office playing with a feather pen,
daydreaming about all that would be. Now he would have a "hostage"
persay, and a way to break down Vincent, and Natalie's empire. He
also was thinking about how to kill Sephiroth(again)but no ideas
came. Rufus wasn't a bad looking man, but his evil made him quite
ugly. The man had yellow-blonde hair and of course the Shin-Ra's
trademark the mako eyes. He was a bit scrawny, but his power,
good looks, evil, and large rifle made up for it. Rufus was about
to start writing again when his door creaked, then opened.
The guard made a deep bow and slightly raised his head. "Sir,
she is awake and sounds quite a bit confused" The guard said,
and then left.
Rufus smiled. his plan was working, or so he thought.
