This is a generalization. Some places have always been strctly magic or strictly science.
That ideology is known as the Travellers. The Travellers credo is to aid the other dimensions in their battle against evil. This is all well and good, but they are
heavily splintered now into various groups. This may be caused by their eagerness to expand their numbers by recruiting from outside Janus. We now
have the Magi, a group of Travellers dedicated to preventing the Age of Corruption. They are opposed by the Tekkies who want to eliminate the evil influence of Magic by getting rid of all of it.
Some Advisors have created a third group called the Restorers who really don't care about go or evil, they just want the timelines as they
were. This doesn't include those that broke ranks with the Travellers for their own purposes, evil (Marauders) or good (Rouges).
The History of Janus
Janus does not have a history like the above and in fact, the dimension of Janus has no native sentient lifeforms whatsoever.
Despite our effiecent and effective job at recording history, not much is known about the time before the Platinum Keep.
Janus was discovered either by gate magic on accident or during a time travel mishap by sentient beings of some race roughly 1000
years ago, local time. It may have been a sanctuary for time-traveling scoundrels of all varieties or actually began as the civilizations who live there today.
The Civilizations of Janus
Civilizations on Janus fall under two major ideologies with subsets under each one. First there are the Sentinels, guardians of the true histories. I belong to this group. To watch, not to act is our creed.
Although, I confess, a second subgroup known as the Advisors who look at the histories and try to manlipulate them for various
reasons. Thankfully, their numbers are small. Unfortunately, their numbers are growing. More often than not, the advisors aid the other ideology.
Various Campaigns of Traveller Interference
While the data file is immense of Traveller interference, we are having a hard time converting it into an acceptable format.
Please be patient.
Places where the Travellers haven't been
Surprisingly, there are places in the universe free from Travellers that we have been able to witness. Alas, due to the
nature of the Advisors and the persistness of Travellers in general. Among them are Galaxy Sigma-9, a galaxy whose days of Traveller interference
are numbered due to a Sentinel altering a Rouge about an impending crisis there. Another one is The Milky Way, specifically the planet Earth.
In fact, there is no Sentinel proof of Earth whatsoever and is only mentioned briefly by a Rouge named Terrence Chase, whose reputation with
most civilizations on Janus has been less than sterling. Adding insult to injury is his new associate, one Sacha Brit O'Connell,
actually claims to be from there. I don't know what scheme those two are planning, but I'm asking all Sentinels not to waste time
looking for places that don't exist. Let the Travellers get killed exploring myths.
