She was dressed in the cloth of nobility, yet she was humble in posture. She had the wings of a dove on her back, yet she could still move among men with ease.
Almost magically, the image of the sun seemed to surround her head, yet through this bright light her smile of sincerity was seen easily as it beamed brighter...
She was truly a messenger from the Heavens that Arthur and his faithful Knights had so righteously defended. She moved effortlessly past the Ladies of Avalon until she came to the stricken body of King Arthur.. laying in muslin on a warm bed of goose feathers...
She looked at this battered body of the once Great King and gently rubbed his forehead. Words filled the room but she did not utter them... 'twas as if the block walls of the castle awoke from centuries of slumber to speak to those present..
"Ye have been a true and faithful servant of the cause of good oh Mighty King.
It is hard, I know, but your fight for justice and honour is not yet over and we need you to continue with your crusade... Man still has not learned all that the power of Excalibur has to teach..."
The sounds continued and with this the weary eyes of the fallen King opened slightly to gaze upon this wonderous being....
"Ye must come with me Arthur.. for I will protect thee and return thee to this place when the world again has the bodies of men capable of joining with thee to rebuild the ideals of Camelot.”
The Kings eyes seemed to come alive again as these words drifted into the room..
“They may appear to you as different men but you will see the inner qualities of your original Knights of the Round Table living within them and you will recognise them instantly.
You will find your love again, then reassemble your whole Court and will fill it with only the true and faithful souls who understand the power and the meaning of the Excalibur Sword and all that it teaches.."
With that King Arthurs eyes closed and,
magically, his body was transformed into a single piece of beautiful natural
crystal...
The Mistress of the Crimson Orb picked
up this crystal and struck it once with her index finger. The crystal shattered into many pieces and each piece flew out of the windows in the room. Every piece went in
a different direction... leaving but one piece that stayed in the muslin bed. This last piece was the
CRIMSON CRYSTAL
The Mistress picked up the Crimson Crystal
and magically attached it to her necklace of gold that was slung around
her neck...
Words filled the room again...
"This crystal contains the essence of Arthur and the power of Excalibur... only the True King will be able to
recognise the need to rebuild the crystal to its former beauty and know
the correct means to do it..... for the pieces are now scattered
all over the known and unknown world"
The words continued but all that were there swore that the walls moved as these words were spoken....
"This Crimson Crystal will the symbol of the new Camelot and there will be only one man that will be given the power
and wisdom to collect all of the pieces... only when all of the pieces
are restored to the new Camelot will the Legends continue.. If he fails
in his attempt to collect all of the pieces... the power of Excalibur will
be withdrawn and Camelot will be no more...."
Centuries passed like the constant ebb
& flow of the oceans upon the harsh coastline that was once part of
the Holdings of Camelot... but no sight of Arthur, he had not returned.
Man became more powerful and began rejecting
the ideals set up by the Good King, the power of the Realms broke down
and was replaced by other powers.. some good, most not good.. but still
no sign of Arthur returning.
The Dragons, Wizards and other mystical
beings began to hide in different places as they knew that this modern
man would destroy them all through their lack of faith in their powers...
they gradually reduced themselves to simple flashes of energy that could
move around in a micro world.. too small to be noticed by man, in the hope
that they could reappear in the future and while all this was happening…still
no sign of Arthur...
Then it happened...
With this the Mistress began to glide back out of the room as the Ladies of Avalon gazed in awe. She mounted the Immortal Dragon and the
Mists of Avalon parted giving a clear view to the Heavens above… The magnificent
dragon hissed and squirmed as it lifted its enormous body off the belltower
with wings of pure gold and after one small circuit of the Castle of Avalon
they flew off into the heavens at the speed of light itself...
It was a peaceful sunny afternoon in the
southern part of the New World, now known as ‘The States’.. a humble man
was simply following a passion that had fascinated him since he was a young
boy. He had always been interested in the Legends of King Arthur.. the tales seemed to draw him on a quest for more knowledge. This had gone on for many years and now he was well aware of the various Legends written by many authors but, more importantly, he was slowly becoming educated to the power of Excalibur… and the good it can do for ALL men. He decided to try and condense this information into a form that he could spread to others and began to scan some of the text & drawings of the Legends.
He had scanned 5 or 6 pages and noticed
that each of these scanned images had a small single imperfection on the
page… not in the same place on each page… but scattered randomly…
He decided to look closer at these imperfections and he noticed that they were like a very small diamond… or.. better still, a minute crystal! He did not understand any of this but was compelled to continue scanning the images… more & more… each page with a little more urgency than the last..
“Yes”, he thought, “each one has a crystal on it!”
He had about 20 copies of the scanned images all over his desk and then the magic of the Immortals struck him. Every one of these copies suddenly began to glow a strange colour.. each one a different part of the rainbow… then an almost blinding flash of light entered the room and all of the colours were gone… they simply disappeared.
By now he was beginning to doubt what he saw and thought it might be time to have a rest from this. As he turned around in his chair he noticed something. Within his computer a 3D image of the Crimson
Crystal appeared...
He turned back quickly and saw that the crystal like imperfections had gone from the scanned prints! All he seemed to think about after that was a place called Camelot.
He knew a lot about Camelot, but seemed compelled to learn more & more.. as if on a mission. The more he learned the more he knew, but he always had the feeling that he had been there before ... aye, believe me, the essence of Arthur was gradually filling the very soul of this man ...
His aim was to rebuild Camelot in the image and under the same virtuous Code as the original Camelot ... but he was also gaining a greater understanding of the need to gather ALL the pieces of the original crystal together ... for he had only the heart & soul of it.. he had the Crimson Crystal and he needed all of the pieces of the crystal to add to his and form the body of…
The Crystal of Light & Understanding.
This was his Quest!!
