THE DAY AT SHOW BIZ Bryan Shon i_am_now@farts.com 7/21/99 When we sat down I couldn't wait for the pizza. I could smell the pizza crust baking and the cheese melting in the oven. When the pizza finally came to our table the cheese was still bubbling. It came fresh out of the oven and it looked good. My Uncle Chris gave me a slice of pizza and I said "Thank You Uncle Chris." When I started chewing the pizza I could taste the tomato sauce, cheese, and crust. Before I was half way done, Uncle Chris was on his second pizza and when I finally finished my pizza, half of the pizza was gone. Since I was young I only could eat one pizza. We were at a place called "Show Biz Pizza." I was so short and weak I couldn't play this rifle shooting game because I couldn't pick up the gun and see the screen. On the arcade games I couldn't reach the controls and see the screen. On "Skee Ball" I would always miss and my ball would go into someone else's alley. All I could do was go on those little kiddy rides and go round and round or up and down. They would only take you about two feet off the ground. After I finished my pizza I asked Uncle Chris for tokens "Uncle Chris can I have some tokens" he would say "What do you say" then as a response I would say "Please." Then I would put the tokens in my pockets and run towards the games. I could hear the token go "Ching Ching" in my pockets. The game I headed for was a frog game. The object of the game was to get the ball into the frog's mouth. You had to pull a lever down and let it go which would send the ball flying up. I would usually go to this game because it would give tickets and with tickets you could get prizes. By the little kiddy ride there was a small arcade game. It was basically the same as the big ones. It had a screen, controls, and a slot where you would put the tokens. I've played this game before but had no clue on how on to play it. What was the stick for? I would ask myself. This was a hard place to concentrate with all the noise and laughter. I used to think the buttons made you move and the stick collected the animals. Only by chance I would get one animal but not the pair of animals. The game was called "Noah's Arc" and when I finally figured it out I was doing good. I gathered a pair of antelopes, a pair of horses, and a pair of giraffes. When it came to the pair of elephants I ran out of time and lost. When I checked my pockets there weren't any more tokens and it was time to leave. I set a goal that day and it was to pass that game but years later the game broke and was never repaired. I didn't get to accomplish my goal and I probably never will.
