     Hikaru is the Magic Knight of Fire. She's the bravest of the Magical Knights, and was the first to accept the "responsability" to protect Cephiro. She has a strong will and tends to be the pillar of strength of the three when the odds turn against them. The way she is protrated in this series is as a cute girl, a bit on the informal, naive and innocent side. She's a bit short for her age and her new friends Fuu and Umi mistake her for someone much younger than they are, not someone from the same age and class.
     Hikaru has three brothers and a dog named Hikari. Her mother and father have not appeared in the series.

     Fuu is the most polite and proper of the Magic Kights, and sometimes that's a fault. Depending on the situation, her personality can range from extremely friendly to downright arrogant.
     She has a sister. No other family members appear in the series.

Umi Ryuuzaki

     Think of Umi as the Valley Girl of the Magic Knights. She's not a total jerkette, but she can be pretty obnoxious at times. She is very impatient, and can be selfish. She wants to hurry back home so she can get back into her fencing tournament. Oh, and she really, really wants to kill Mokona.
     Umi doesn't seem to have any romantic interests like the other characters, though someone may be interested in her, depending on your read of it. Check out the spoiler section if you want to spoil that.
     Umi has a mother and father that act like newlyweds.
