Otherwise, it's still an enjoyable game. Here's a "cheat code" to get a special version of the opening theme. This workong on the US version only. This text is straight from the Working Designs webpage (http://www.workingdesigns.com) Remember that joke we played on you and your fellow netizens with an R&B sounding opening to Magic Knight Rayearth? Well, we decided to include it on the released version of the game. But, in order to get it, you have to put in a special super secret code. Simply press and hold Right Shift+Left Shift+X+B+Z+Start as you boot Rayearth and hold it until the opening animation begins to load. If you did this correctly, you'll get the opening song performed by Jennifer Stigile in Mariah Carey fashion. MISC NOTES : Fountains : To use a fountain, walk right up to it and press the attack button. This will refuel your MP and HP meters. If it doesn't work the first time, try again. It should heal all 3 characters. MP / HP power ups (Heart / Magic jewel) : I suggest you give the first of these to Fuu... as her first spell is healing, it'll help her last longer and shortly, be able to cast two "Healing Wind" on your characters. Fuu : A great character to use, although her attacks are the least powerful, it allows you to attack from long distance. Keep her safe in boss fights to use her "Healing Wind" spell. Hikaru : The medium damage character, with some heavy damage spells. Her attacks go in a half circle, useful on moving enemies. Umi : If your enemy is standing still, use her powerful sword stab. Ineffective against moving enemies. THE GUIDE : This will get you through the gameplay, I'll add in the secrets and stuff later, just keep your eyes peel as you move on so you don't miss them. FOREST OF SILENCE MAZE / PRECIA'S MANSION : Opening : The first portions of the game aren't very intereactive at all, leaving me with nothing to explain. After you've received weapons from Precia in the Forest of Silence... exit her house and head left, this will take you to the Forest Of Silence Maze. The maze itself... is basically a series of junctions that will repeat itself if you take the wrong path. In otherwords... if you take a wrong turn, you'll end up right back where you took the wrong turn. Here's are the directions : Northwest at the 4 way stop Continue North Take the left path, head east just a little and then North to meet Ferio. North, and when you hit the spinning spinning sign, head Northwest. You'll know you went the right way when you encounter the spinning sign again, except it's pointing southwest, go that way. South, east, north and Ferio has another dialogue with the characters. North again, and you'll come across a crumbled bridge. Jump over the bridge, and don't forget to jump a bit east of that to retrieve the Heart / Magic jewels. Go north and you'll exit the maze, have a quick fight with Alcione (you get to watch this fight) Then take a quick stroll north to... LEGENDARY POOL OF ETERNA : After a fairly quick dialogue, you get the first interactive boss fight in the game. You also can't lose this fight... if you die, you start that character's fight over until you win. Each girl fights her own loved one(s) separatly. Hikaru : Fights "Flash", her dog. Flash moves around the screen, and after about 5 seconds will face Hikaru and rush right at her. Sword stabs do minimal damage, so use her "Flame Arrow" spell. Everytime you hit Flash, you'll get a magic ball. If you run too low on MP to cast another spell... just smack Hikari after he dashes at you for another magic ball. Umi : Fights her parents. They unleah a huge blast downwards, and move in an X pattern across the screen. Once again, use her spells, and each hit brings out a magic ball. Fuu : The hardest fight of them all. Fuu fights herself. Hit your mirror image at least twice before you heal yourself, and bumping into your mirror will count. The only damage that doesn't count, is if your mirror shoots you. After the fight is over, you get the Escudo, and head back to Precia's place. [SNIP] Jumping ahead... FINAL SHOWDOWN Zagato as a human Zagato loves to cast a circle lightning spell, learn how to avoid it, this is tricky. Use Fuu's homing arrows to knock him out. If you know you're going to take a hit, switch to Hikaru or Umi. Once you beat him, even if you lose to Zagato in his Mashin, you don't have to fight his human form again. Save all heal spells for his Mashin fight or Princess Emeroodo. Zagato in his Mashin Once again, use Fuu's homing arrow ability to knock him out. Switch to one of the other two when you're going to take a hit. Princess Emeroodo Princess Emeroodo's attack work in a patter, learn the pattern and doge carefully. Pick one appendage to destroy at a time. When she's down to one or two appendages, she'll attack more fiercly. Dodge like crazy and try to stay alive. Enjoy the short, yet kinda' crappy ending =^^=;;
