Raised as the daughter of a distiller in the Lowlands of Oban in Scotland, Zmai was given every chance in the world for a good upbringing. Going to exclusive private schools in England, New York and even Paris as a child and teen. While in Paris, she caught of whiff of the possibility of vampires and started to research into them heavily.
We don't know much about her background for the very fact that she says little about it.
