Shin Kidousenki Gundam Wing Their Children - by Melissa Koh: safyre@jade-court.darkgod.net - - website: http://safyre.tsx.org - Author's notes: It all started with a comment, "What would Heero and Relena's child be named as?" Seriously, this was what started the entire thing. I made the comment to Neko-chan, and it led on to the children of the other G-boys. By the way, our idea for Heero's daughter's name was Heero Rei. It was actually supposed to be Heero Relena, then it got too long, and I shortened it. But no. I refuse to use such a name. The names of their children are as listed below: Heero & Relena's child: Ryuusei Yuy (14) Duo & Hilde's children: Dylan Maxwell (15) Heather Maxwell (13) Trowa & Catherine's child (adopted): Terrence Barton (16) Quatre & Dorothy's child: Quentin Raberba Winner (15) Wufei's child (adopted): Chang Xiumei (14) Miraldo & Lucrezia's child: Matthew Peacecraft (13) There! Now you know! And now, on with the show! Yours forever, Hypertia ****** One: "Otousama." Heero looked up from his computer and saw his teenage daughter standing before him in the full royal regalia. He frowned, wondering what was going on when he remembered that Relena was holding another banquet for the reunion of their friends. But still, he didn't think that there was any need for their daughter to wrap herself up in gems and jewels of all sizes. He had to admit though, she looked dazzlingly beautiful. "What is it, Ryuusei?" he asked as he exited from the system, switching off his computer before turning to face his daughter, who was not feeling in the least bit comfortable in her new clothes. "Otousama, could you please tell Okaasan that I don't have to dress in these clothes and jewellery? I can't move freely as I want to," said the dark-haired teenager of fourteen, trying to pull off her diamond bracelet, "and these jewellery are getting on my nerves. Can't I just wear my tiara and go? I mean, it's not as though the entire government house is visiting us. It's only your friends and their children, and they've seen me hundreds of times. Whether I dress up or not isn't going change the way I look." Heero watched his only child struggle with the clasp and had a tough time trying not to succumb to his urge to start laughing. Most people would have died to be in her place, and there she was, complaining all the way. "But, Ryuusei, you look perfectly beautiful in those." "I feel like an idiot. These things aren't light either." She finally unclasped the diamond bracelet and started to work on her necklace. "Why do I have to dress in this ridiculously long, silk dress that literally mops the floor? Not to mention that it's pink in colour?" Her father gazed at her severely and spoke in his sternest tones, "Pink is your mother's favourite colour, and you're a girl. It's not right for you to be dressed in boys' clothing all the time." "But I like those! They're comfortable and I don't have to worry about tripping over them at all!" said Ryuusei defensively, handing her diamond jewellery to her father. Heero shook his head as he watched her pull off her earrings. Relena was not going to be pleased with her once she found out. Heero sighed inwardly and wondered how much different could the mother and daughter be. Relena was sweet and gentle, and believed in peace, which was why he fell in love with her in the first place. Ryuusei, on the other hand, though she believed in peace, she did not share her mother's sentiments in the methods to achieving their goals. In fact, Ryuusei resembled him more than she resembled her mother. He was secretly relieved, actually. Ryuusei was presently able throw daggers with deadly accuracy, a skill she picked up by the courtesy of Catherine. The latter had offered to teach her after an assassination attempt made on her when she was five. They never did find the assassin. Relena refused to blow the matter up, choosing to confine their child in the compounds of their home instead, except for once or twice when they were expected to be present at certain events. Even then, Ryuusei was bombarded by hundreds of bodyguards, restricting her freedom. She had never experienced the freedom he had, the freedom Relena had. Which did not surprise him when she turned rebellious last year, demanding that she be allowed to enter a public school, despite the fact that she had the top tutors teaching her. Heero was agreeable to that, since he knew that Ryuusei was able to defend herself. On the other hand, Relena rejected her demands, and they ended up having a cold war for half a month. Relena was forced to give in after Ryuusei went on a hunger strike. Still, Ryuusei had her limits. She was expected to be home straight after school. If she had other extracurricular activities, she had to inform them about it. Bodyguards were expected to be present everywhere she went. It was hardly surprising that she was not left alone even in class. There would be a bodyguard, dressed in a solemn black suit and with dark glasses, posted in the back of the classroom. These factors strained her relationship with her fellow classmates. All these changed after a talk with the former Gundam pilots. Duo came up with the idea of enrolling all their children into the same school as Ryuusei. All of them were well trained by their parents and would be able to protect Ryuusei in critical situations. The vote was unanimous and all of their children found themselves in the same school as Ryuusei. The unnecessary bodyguards were removed and her relationship with her classmates improved. Unfortunately, within a year, Ryuusei was brain-washed. She started to wear boys' clothing and utterly, totally despised skirts. She even convinced Relena to write a note, informing the principal that she would no longer be wearing skirts to school, but pants. The only saving grace was that Ryuusei kept her hair long, since both Relena and himself refused to let her cut it when she first brought forth the idea. To see her wearing a gown like that was becoming increasingly rare. Heero almost missed the good old days when she was sweet and gentle like Relena. But the change was probably for the better and hopefully, not for the worse. Ryuusei had been proud of her heritage before and she remained proud of it now, even more so than before. Despite her different ideas from her mother, she shared the same ideals as Relena, and it didn't seem to be changing. Patting on Ryuusei's head, Heero said fondly, "Look, we haven't seen you in skirts for the past few months and your mother's beginning to think that you're a guy. Think of it as a favour to the both of us. Besides, you won't be wearing any of these for the next two months, until the next state banquet." She groaned. "I hate it when you pull this 'favour' thingy. Fine, I'll wear this tonight, but only for tonight. I refuse to wear any of these until the next state banquet, okay?" Heero hid a grin. "Talk to your mother about it." ............................................. "Relena, it's been some time," greeted Dorothy, hugging her best friend at the same time. The males stood beside their respective partners, wondering why the females were always so emotional. Their kids stood at the other end of the hall, waiting patiently for their parents to notice them. They had been separated from them for the past year, ever since they enrolled into the same school as Ryuusei. With the exception of Dylan and Heather. They were the only ones besides Ryuusei to live with their parents. Terrence blinked and looked around for the missing girl. Ryuusei wasn't down yet. It could either mean that she was still in her room, struggling with her hair, or that she was trying to redesign her gown into something less feminine. From what he had heard from Xiumei, Ryuusei didn't like the femininity of her new dress much. "Terrence, how's your school work?" said his adoptive father, Trowa, in greeting. His adoptive mother, Catherine, was more expressive, hugging him as though he was still the young child they adopted twelve years ago. Despite the fact that he was at least a head taller than her. He glanced at Xiumei, who was talking cordially to her father. Like Terrence, she too, was adopted. And most surprisingly, by Wufei. Catherine had told him much about Wufei's temper, and his tendency to scream a very insulting "onna" at every female he saw. Naturally, it came as a shock to all of them, even to the supposedly emotionless Heero and calm Trowa, when they found out that he had adopted a female child. Wufei had never struck them as fatherly type in the first place. "So-so," Terrence replied, answering his father's initial question. Trowa nodded vaguely and resumed his silent attitude. The dark-haired boy of sixteen knew that it wasn't that his father didn't care. It was just that he preferred to be quiet. He knew that his father loved him a lot, only thing was that he was not used to expressing it. Terrence respected that. Catherine looked around for a moment before asking loudly, "Where's Ryuusei? I haven't seen her for a year already. The circus refused to grant the both of us leave when we petitioned for it. We had to wait till they were in the vicinity before we could visit. That new circus master is getting on my nerves." "Ryuusei's upstairs, trying to force herself to step out of her bedroom," Heather piped up encouragingly, "she's feeling a little ridiculous at the dress she's wearing..." Before she could continue, her elder brother smacked her across her head, shutting her up instantly. The dark-haired girl of thirteen glared at him before kicking him in the shins, smiling perfectly innocently like a cherub. Their mother, Hilde, interrupted them before a major war broke out. "Dylan, Heather! Stop this nonsense this instant!" "But Mum! Dylan started it first!" whined Heather. Dylan hissed at his younger sister, "No one asked you to open that big mouth of yours! Now shut up!" "Dylan, don't bully your younger sister! And Heather, don't antagonise your brother any further!" said Hilde sharply, the command clear in her voice. She had not lost her military training while she worked for OZ, even after so many years. Both her children became quiet as Duo stifled his laughter in the background. Quentin did not go unscathed as he suffered through the usual parental, but nevertheless, annoying questions from both his parents. What really irritated him the most was his father, Quatre, asking, "Is there any girl whom you're interested in?" Dorothy glared at her husband. "Quentin's still young. Ask him any more of such questions and I won't forgive you!" The blond-haired teenager of fifteen sighed and wondered why his parents always started arguing in front of strangers. Fortunately, the others didn't seem to mind; they were used to it already. "Heero, what's taking Ryuusei so long?" whispered Relena to her life- partner quietly. Heero didn't know. Their daughter had told him to meet the guests first while she went to collect her daggers. She shouldn't be taking that long at all. "I've no idea. I think I'll go up and take a look. Excuse me." He excused himself and left the room, just as Dylan and Heather started quarrelling again, ignoring the frantic attempts made by their parents to calm them down. .................................... Ryuusei stared critically at her image in the mirror and decided that she looked absolutely ridiculous. Fine, so she was being unfair, but she didn't like the way she looked. A year ago she might have thought differently, but now... She frowned at her face. Her mother had her put on lipstick, blush, cosmetics whatever, and she looked artificial to herself. She didn't look like how she was supposed to, and it scared her. She wanted to be herself, and not some political pawn or anything else. She hated the thought of her succeeding her mother, becoming some sort of universal peace symbol. Indeed, her mother, formerly known as Relena Dorian before her marriage, was the symbol of peace throughout Earth and the space colonies. And it frightened her. The identity of her mother was frightening. People worshipped her, as though she was a goddess, the Mother of the World. And they looked at her daughter with the same beliefs. They believed that she would be the next Relena Dorian, her mother's successor. It was true, she loved peace, but she didn't want to be her mother. She wanted to be herself, to use her own methods to bring peace. She banged her head gently against the mirror, wondering what was wrong with her. How many people out there envied her, worshipped her, and here she was, being the ungrateful brat, complaining when by logic, she had nothing to complain about. "Ryuusei? Are you done?" She recognised the voice as her father's. She realised only too late that she had been daydreaming, and that she was *extremely* late. She was supposed to be down fifteen minutes ago. Her mother was going to have a fit over it. She sighed in resignation. "I'm coming, Otousama..." she called out, giving her image one last look before opening the door. .............................. The hall was rather noisy as the people involved in the war of AC 195 and 196 gathered there. Relena was busy greeting all her guests as she awaited the appearance of her only child, as well as the appearance of her brother's family. Both sides were taking their own sweet time to appear, and frankly, Relena was getting worried. Then she saw him--Miraldo with Lucrezia, and their son, Matthew. She excused herself from Lady An and approached her brother. Her nephew was the first to spot her among the crowd as he waved frantically. "Aunt Relena! Over here!" he shouted, his voice full of enthusiasm. He was different from his cousin, who preferred to retain her dignified composure unless she felt unjustified. But then, she was a year older than him, which would probably explain the difference. Relena smiled and returned Matthew's greeting with the same degree of enthusiasm. "Miraldo, it's good to finally see you after all these years," said Relena as she embraced her blond-haired brother. Miraldo kissed both her cheeks in return, just as Heero appeared with Ryuusei. "Zechs." The greeting was short, since Heero wasn't exactly too fond of his brother-in-law. Neither was Miraldo fond of him. At least they weren't enemies, which was a good thing. Ryuusei could not help but remember the stories told to her by Uncle Duo, about her father's battle with her uncle during the Gundam War in AC 195. How her mother was screaming at the control base to encourage Heero to fight, and how she found out that Zechs was her long-lost brother, Miraldo. In her opinion, Ryuusei felt that it was sick. "Heero, it's...nice to see you," said Miraldo stiffly. The two children hadn't missed the pinch Lucrezia gave her husband. Heero hadn't missed it either. Ryuusei bit her lip to stop herself from giggling while her cousin gave her a conspiratorial wink. She ended up having a coughing fit after a failed attempt to control her laughter. She covered her mouth and hid her giggles behind the coughs. Heero's face was unreadable. In fact, if she hadn't seen the twinkling in his prussian blue eyes, she would have thought that he was ready to rebuke her. "Ryuusei, are you unwell?" asked Relena in worry, taking her daughter's cough for real. Ryuusei shook her head violently. "...No, Okaasan. Just a tickle in my throat..." "Oh..." "Come on, kids. Let's go," said Heero, ready to get out of the awkward situation anytime. Ryuusei coughed again, nodding her head in agreement as her mother gave them a confused look, before returning her attention to her brother. Matthew pulled a comical face that sent Ryuusei into another coughing fit. Heero decided that enough was enough and dragged his daughter and nephew to where the children of the Gundam pilots were. "Look after them for me," he said gruffly before walking off. The children stared after him. He seemed to have forgotten that they *were* supposed to look after Ryuusei. "Matt, you're going to be the death of me. Did you have to make that face?" muttered Ryuusei after the humour wore off. Matthew grinned. "It's interesting to see you lose your composure, Ryuusei." "Haha. Hear me laugh." "You did laugh," reminded Xiumei. Ryuusei rolled her eyes at her best friend. "There is no need for you to remind me." Terrence raised his hand, a sign that signalled all of them to be quiet. He didn't think that there was any reason to fight, or quarrel, and he would rather sit still and read a book. Still, to see Ryuusei in a pink gown was something to think about. He didn't really expect her to dress in that colour, especially not after the last time when someone splattered pink paint on her. She hated anything pink ever since. "I'm getting bored. Do you think there's a way to sneak out of the compounds and down to the science lab?" wondered Heather aloud. She eyed at the open door thoughtfully. "Wanna try?" said Quentin casually, "I heard that they've just imported new MS from Father's company. Seems that they are the new models." Dylan raised an eyebrow. "What type?" "If I'm not mistaken, MS Andromeda and MS Pegasus." "I saw them on the Net last week!" exclaimed Terrence. Everyone turned to glare at him. He was not only the smartest and oldest among all of them, he was also the only one who could access into the Net without any supervision or censorship. It gave him full authority on the Net. No one could stop him either. Terrence shrugged and said, "Can I help it if I'm a genius?" "Shut up!" chorused the rest as they threw their cushions at him. .......................................... - End Fic -
