House RulesWhat Powers do characters get from the start of the
|
| Example: Goku boosts his actions for an extra 10 actions in one phase. To do this, he has to have a Move of at least 11 (10 for the extra actions plus 1 for the regular action that round). |
In the Saiyan Saga, Goku's Move was 110. Wow! That means he could take a total of 109 boosted actions plus his normal action in one phase.
Move can also be used to tell if a character can outrun someone. For instance. Goku has a Move of 110. Vegeta has a Move of 120. If Goku wants to outrun Vegeta, he will have to spend some Power to raise it for a couple phases.
Fighting - This can be used for two things in my campaign: Hitting and Blocking.
| Hitting - Obviously, to hit an opponent without a
weapon, you will use your Fighting skill. Blocking - If an opponent if taking a swing at you, you have three options: You can Dodge it using Evasion, let them hit you, or you can use your Fighting to block the swing. Obviously you can't block Energy attacks this way (unless they come up with rules for that soon). And you can't block weapons with this. |
Evasion - Use this to evade energy attacks, weapons, and fighting techniques, flying cows, killer rabbits, and whatever else is coming at you.
Weapon - Used with knives, clubs, swords, and other weapons. Also, you can use this to block other weapons with your weapon.
Power - Characters use this skill to fire energy blasts or use other energy related powers.
Body - Need to lift a mountain or a large boulder? You'll need to have a high Body to perform these feets.
Mind - Mind is used for detecting Power Levels, hiding Power Levels, feeling someone's presence, Telekinesis, and whatever else the GM tells you it does.
Hide Power Level - Characters with this ability can sense a character's power level. They do not know the exact number, but they can sense about how powerful a person is in comparison to themselves, or others. Mind is used for this task. People accustomed to hiding their Power Level don't have to make a Mind check, but characters learning this trick still have to make the check.
| Example: Kinesta, a namek fighter, doesn't want to let Vegeta to know how much weaker he is than him, so he hides his power level. When Vegeta scans Kinesta with his scouter, he only get a reading of 300. |
Telekinesis
Mind can also be used for Telekinesis. Piccolo used this to lift pyramids into the air when he was training to fight the Vegeta and Nappa in the Saiyan Saga. Even Goku (who isn't the brightest character) has used this trick to lift objects into the air with his mind.
To do this, a character has to make a successful Mind roll with the difficulty being equal to the difficulty for a physical test for the same weight. For instance, Piccolo uses telekinesis to lift a pyramid. It takes a 28 Physical to lift a large building. Piccolo has a 20 Mind total. That means he has to roll an 8 or more on his roll (20 + 8 = 28). He rolls a 12. That gets him a total of 32. The pyramid slowly and carefully lifts off the sand, moved by the power of Piccolo's mind.
Moving objects at a faster pace, or throwing objects doubles the difficulty for the check.
Sense Power Level
| Example: Kinesta can sense that his power level (2,000) is much lower than Nappa's power level (4,500), but is much higher than Yajirobe's (500). |
Spending Experience PointsBefore you go and spend all of your experience points, let me tell you how we spend character points. When experience points are awarded by the game master, all characters must spend half of their experience points on power level. This makes the game a bit more like the show, where your power level increases after every fight.
This also keeps players from abusing the rules and keeping their power level lower so they get more experience points from fights.
Raising Power Level
10 Exp. = 10 Power Level Points
Power Level is a statistic that should be encouraged to raise, as in DBZ people's power levels go up after every fight. To do this, Power Level was made the cheapest cost to raise. A player spends 10 EXP. and gets 10 added to their Power Level.
Raising Skills
1/2 x the current rating (round down).
Example: Vegeta just got his butt stomped into the ground by Goku and has recieved experience points from the severe beating. He is pissed off and wants to beat Goku next time so he decides to raise his Fighting skill (30) up to 33. To do this, he must spend a total of 46 points. He must spend 15 points to raise it to 31, 15 more to raise it to 32, and 16 more to raise it to 33.
Raising Characteristics
1 x the current rating.
Example: Goku wants to raise his Physical (24) to 26. He trains and gets experience points. To do this, he will have to spend 49 experience points. Then he spends 24 to raise his Physical to 25, and 25 to raise it to 26.
Raising Hits
Raise your Physical. Yes, that's right. In my game, if you want to raise this, you'll have to raise your Physical Characteristic. It raises with it in my game.
Raising Defense
Raise your Physical. Yes, that's right. In my game, if you want to raise this, you'll have to raise your Physical Characteristic. It raises with it in my game.
Example of Experience Point Spending
| Sparks has just kicked the tar out of his
opponent. Skarks' power level is 450. His opponent's power level was 1350. Take half away to raise Power Level Now Sparks has 15 points to put wherever he wants. He decideds to raise his Weapon Skill from 10 to 11. To raise skills, we spend experience points equal to half of the current rating. He now wants to raise his Movement to 10. This will cost 10 points since Characteristics cost experience points equal to their current level. |
1350 / 450 = 3 3 x 10 = 30 Experience Points 30 - 15 = 15 Leftover Experience = 15
