Alone
Shadows of despair surround me,
As I wonder what I did wrong.
Though I tried to make it known how I feel,
You never saw the love I have,
Never realized what you mean to me.
I cannot begrudge you the need for purpose,
Nor the quest to find your place,
I only wish that I could join you.
Perhaps making your journey easier.
For I traveled that road long ago,
And I know what dangers it holds.
Perhaps you will find that your place
Is, and always will be, with me.
But for now, you must go alone,
So I sit here, in the dark of loneliness,
And wait for you to bring light back to my world.
