Silent Vow
Within the harrowing black of night,
We stand together now,
Our enemies ever present, yet unknown. The sky above grows restless and threatening.
With every step, it shouts it's angry warning.
The wind about us sings it's tormenting ballad,
Piercing the ears with it's icy tune.
From the shifting ground below, jagged rocks arise,
Anticipating our every falter. We have been here before, you and I.
We have witnessed the storm and put it to rest,
Calming the wind to a sweet melody.
Through the guantlet of pain, we know the way.
Though our enemies be different,
They hold the same intent,
To consume our very beings,
Forever making us one with the emptiness that is the night.Bound to each other in a silent vow,
We battle on.
Protecting, needing, loving, giving. For that is what we do,
For that is who we are.
