Imphadi Jamal Hassim ibn al'Fadar Isham,

The fullness of time has brought your humble actions to the attention of the Queen-Maharani. In her name, greetings. The Queen-Maharani desires that a report of your pilgrimage and subsequent attack be delivered to her before the month has reached its conclusion. As she has been charged by the inexorable Amir-al to bend her ear to matters which might infringe upon relations between the Varati people and the candala of the world, your report should provide in great detail the various actions which occured during the pilgrimage. Do not fail your Queen and God. Please provide a written report with all speed.

Greetings. In addition to this report, you may wish to seek information from the Caravanmaster, Nabi Hursal. As Caravanmaster, he is privy to more details than I. The report is as follows: On , the caravan of pilgrims departed Haven for Lycenae in Avalon. It consisted of six Atarvani including myself and Caravanmaster Hursal, eight Agni-Haidar, and the pilgrims . Travel was uneventful, including customary stops at until Avalon was reached. At this point, the caravan was escorted by six mongrel warriors, armed and armored and mounted on horses. Mount Lycenae was reached without incident. After a day of prayers, the caravan began its journey home. Once again, the six mongrels were in attendance, and remained so until shortly before the border between Avalon and Illium was reached. At the border, after the mongrel soldiers had withdrawn, Nabi Hursal called for camp preparations. At nightfall, the camp was attacked by eight enemy. The attackers fired three volleys of arrows before advancing into the camp with swords. Five enemy were killed; three remain in Atarvani custody pending interrogation. Of the pilgrims, two were killed and six wounded. The two dead were Nitara and Zahra of Clan Messala; Nitara was killed when she wandered from the camp without guards to bathe and Zahra was shot through the throat in the first volley of arrows. The ground was particularly chosen for the ambush, as something was wrong with the way magic worked there. It was difficult to wield and control magic. When the battle was over, Hursal called for the camp to be moved. At first light, he sent several of his assistants back to the battle location to retrieve the enemy's armor, arms, and descriptions. In addition, Nabi Hursal sent a fast-rider to Haven to bring word of the attack ahead of the caravan. We then returned home without further incident. The caravan was resupplied at to assist the wounded. Thus ends my report.
