It is with a saddened heart that I write this letter to you. I have just come from the quarters of my dear friend and teacher of old, Domina Petra Tritonides. She has told me of the disapproval your husband displayed at her presence within the Atesh Gah, and she has also informed me that you believe his words and ways to be correct.

While I will not question your beliefs on this matter, I would like to let you know, in case you were not aware, that you have devestated a very dear woman by your rejection of her offer to teach what she can to help in your role as queen.. She loves you as if you were her very own daughter, and though you and I do not know each other, I feel obligated to bring this to your attention because she has been as a second mother to me, and in that, I feel some affection for you as well because of the love she holds for you. I beg you to consider her feelings, pay her a visit, inquire after her health since she was burned by your husband's display to his people. Please, do not let this wonderfully caring woman go on in the belief that you do not care for her. It breaks my heart to see her own heart so broken.

I have a deep concern for her health as well, and should anything happen, it would indeed be a tragedy if she were called home to Jove without knowing that you care.

I beg your pardon if it seems I have overstepped my bounds, but I doubt she will admit this hurt I witnessed to any others, or if they would think to mention it to you if she did.

Greetings and salutations to one with a caring heart. Your missive has reached Thalia, Queen-Maharani of the Varati people. She has read the words therein and while she believes your concern to be real, your conclusions are incorrect. The Queen-Maharani had welcomed Petra Tritonides as both advisor and friend. The choice and the reason to depart Atesh-Gah and the Queen-Maharani's side was Petra Tritonides' alone. The conclusions expressed in your letter are hers alone and can only be justified by the woman. It would be to your own benefit to clarify the situation with your friend, as while the Queen cares for Petra Tritonides, she has said nothing with which to support her claims. As for a visit, the Queen-Maharani shall in the near future grace the halls of the Palladium as you have suggested. In the meanwhile, it would be to both your benefit, that of Petra Tritonides and the Queen-Maharani, that false accusations toward the Queen-Maharani's nature be unwrought.
