Subject: Preliminary report (Fri Sep 8 20:21:13 2000)

A message is received. Unlike the usually elegant writing of most Atarvani, this message is written out in a hand that is utterly practical, even leaning towards the rough sides of things. It reads:

To the Queen Maharani Thalia Jovia Tridonides Khalida: I, Jamal Hassim ibn al'Fadar Isham, send greetings and an initial report to you.

Sabirah and I have located two seers. Both report vague and disturbing visions of a great conflict coming towards Haven from the north. Though they are unable to see details beyond the fact that they are seeing warfare, they do each report seeing the spire of the Citadel clearly. They report the sound of metal ringing against metal: the particular weapons mentioned have been sword, spear, and axe. Shields have been noticed as well. Neither seer has been able to distinguish the kind of warrior, nor were there distinct impressions of terrain, although one felt that neither water nor air was the battleground.

We have a third seer to interview; we will send another report at that time.
