Three Girls, A Guy, And A Fanfic
Disclaimer: Please Don't Sue Me!
All game/anime characters and skits are owned by their respective companies, such as Monty Python, Square/EA and whoever owns Dragon Ball Z this week, except for two. Gatoris Tonberry is my idea, so do not rip him off. The character of Jupiter/Almathea/Princess Chastity is copyright of CHibi Jupiter, and is used with permission.
Introduction: Incessant Rambling
T
his fic was inspired by some fics I read on Dot Warner’s site. These fics involve fanfic characters (Most from Dragon Ball Z) and the authors. I decided to add a new twist: seeing how Jupiter/Almathea was created by my chat friend, what would happen if the two authors met? As an added bonus, I added the woman who is my online Aerith in the mix. This will be fun...Part 1: The First Surprise
The date was February 2, 2000. Garrett Mackenzie was sitting at his computer in his dorm room at Indiana State University. He had decided to make his fanfic come alive in chatrooms by having Gatoris marry Aerith. He was waiting for his friend, Chibi_Jupiter_san, to get online. It was about 12:30 in the afternoon. He then heard a knock on his door. Seeing how he did not have a roommate (at his request), he got up to see who it was. He wasn’t happy of having to leave his seat, so he asked who it was. He was floored when a female voice said she was his sister. Before he collapsed from shock, he opened the door.
When he came to on his bed about three minutes later, he saw a beautiful eighteen-year-old African-American girl looking over him. Her face seemed familiar. Remembering that Chibi_Jupiter_san had sent him a pic of her, he sprung up and found it. He did a total of seven doubletakes. "Katoya?" he said, calling her by her real name, "What are you doing here?" Garrett was talking to the woman behind Almathea Chase and Princess Chastity. "Can’t I drop in unannounced on a friend?" she replied. "Yes you can drop in, but call ahead. I was holding up my ‘wedding’ until you showed up..." He looked at the clock. It was time.
The online wedding went off without a hitch. Garrett set it up so Katoya could be on at the same time as him. After the wedding and during the dancing, Gatoris got an odd private message from Aerith. She asked him if he wanted to meet her in person. Garrett replied that he couldn’t make it to Canada to do it (which is where she was from). She asked again. Garrett began to think. Katoya was in the room with him. Perhaps she was in Indiana as well? He typed that he would love to. Her reply was to wait ten minutes, and she went off-line.
Part 2: Double Shock
About nine and a half minutes later, there was a knock on Garrett’s door. He was still a bit paranoid, so he asked who it was. "Gatoris, this is your wife." she replied. "Don’t you want to start the honey..." Garrett quickly opened the door. "Cut it out with the Gatoris, Hollie..." he knew who it was. "Angie is next door to me, and I don’t want her to know about my writing!" Hollie looked at him. "Geez! Don’t blow a gasket! I didn’t realize she was that close." Great, Garrett thought. My life is going to be fun... Hollie and Katoya introduced each other. "What do you girls want to do first?" Garrett asked. "What is there to do here?" Katoya asked in response. He thought for a moment. "Bowling?" he finally plucked out of the air. "Sure", Hollie approved. "Just hope no penguins explode..." Katoya joked.
The three went to a bowling alley across the street from the campus. It was a decent alley, with pool tables. After renting a lane, Garrett let the other two go first. When it was Garrett’s turn, he prayed that his writing would not haunt him. He should have prayed harder. His thumb was lodged in the ball, and it took him all the way down the lane. When he got back up and dislodged the ball, he joked that at least he got a strike out of it. They bowled for an hour, then someone walked into the alley. Garrett’s jaw dropped.
"I didn’t know Angie and Jason bowled..." Hollie said. "That makes three of us. I never expected this..." Garrett was pale. What would she think of him with two girls as his company? He began to shake. She then approached him. "Friends of yours, Gator?" He could not speak. Katoya finally spoke up for him. "Yes, we are. You must be Angie." Garrett’s face became almost transparent. I’m doomed, he thought. Angie looked surprised. "He talk about me much?" She realized Garrett was nervous, so she took the indirect route. Hollie spoke up this time. "Almost non-stop...." Angie took notice to her voice. "I can see why he spends time with you. You two are good friends, and you sound like me..." She began to walk off, but she stopped to whisper in Garrett’s ear. "Don’t feel bad, Garrett," she began. "I know you’re just nervous. Jason doesn’t mind. I’ll see you..." She then walked back to Jason.
Garrett felt physically ill for the rest of the day. He was in the bathroom throwing up most of the night. Katoya had decided to stay with him through the night, while Hollie went to her hotel room. Being next door to Garrett’s dorm room, Angie began to worry about her friend. She went to check on him. Katoya let her in. "Is he going to be all right?" Angie asked. Upon hearing her voice, Garrett became worse. "I don’t know," Katoya told her. "He’s just nervous and embarrassed, I’d say." "Embarrassed? How?" Angie was a touch confused. "He thinks that seeing him with two other women will make you think less of him..." "Oh..." Angie awed. "He’s self conscious of how he appears to me? He’s really love-sick..." She decided to go into the bathroom.
Part 3: Looking Up...
"Garrett? Are you feeling okay?" Angie asked him. She knew the answer, but she had to ask. Garrett pried his head from the toilet bowl for a second. "No, I’m just bulimic. I’m trying to lose twenty pounds for those two..." he replied with a sense of sarcasm. He then immediately stuck his head back in the toilet bowl. "Garrett, I know why you are doing this. You think you lost any chance to be with me." Garrett finally stopped vomiting. "Honestly, I do not know why you think so highly of me. I am just a simple girl from the small town of Deadwood..." "And I am a stupid asshole from the same town who is hopelessly in love with a girl that is already happy with her current boyfriend, but still obsesses about her to a point of it being unhealthy..." Angie stopped him there. She did something unexpected: she kissed him on the cheek. "Who says it’s unhealthy? It’s good to have high goals." Garrett vomited one more time, then wiped his mouth. "Thanks for the confidence, Angelina..." Garrett almost never used her full first name. "...but it is still unhealthy. I cannot have you, so I end up hurting myself." "Then move on. If this hurts you so, why continue?" Garrett was shaking his head. "I can’t move on. There is not anyone close to you..." She then whispered in his ear something that shocked him: "Gatoris, why not Aerith?" Garrett landed face-down in the toilet (Don’t worry, he flushed.).
When he came to, Angelina, Katoya and Hollie were standing over him. "How did you know about Gatoris, Angie?" Garrett was still puzzled. "You know your friend Wallen?" Damn blabbermouth pervert, Garrett thought. "...he told me. I didn’t know you could write that good." "You... you like it?" Garrett was feeling light-headed. "Yes. I was hoping that one day you would tell me what you felt about me, face-to-face. Your writing puts it all in perspective. You love me, and that’s it." She then kissed him again. Garrett did not feel queasy this time. "I was at his wedding, by the way." Garrett’s jaw dropped. "Again, Wallen told me. I was there..." Garrett’s jaw dropped further. "It was beautiful." Angie looked at Garrett’s clock. "Jason’s probably worried sick about me..."
"Wow. That was a trip." Katoya said after Angie left. "She knew. And she was honoured by it..." Hollie added. "She likes the Chronicles..." Garrett was still in awe. He then saw the yellow roses next to his computer.
Epilog: Weird...
I told you that would be fun. As far as I know, the real Angelina Bradford has no clue of my existence as Gatoris, but I have moved on. I just thought it would be fun to see how she and I would react. I apologize to Wallen, for he was the only other ISU student who knows of the real Tonberry. I take back the blabbermouth part. He is a pervert, though. To my good friends Hollie and Katoya, thanks for letting me use your real names. Luv ya both, Jupi and Aerith...
