Ok, this is the main character of this series. He starts out pretty boring in the first book, but he gets cooler and cooler until the end, when you feel really sorry for him! (Oh, by the way, read this BEFORE you read any of the dark elf books, I mean it! It is much cooler that way!!) Anyways, the Edificant Library is where he studies his magic, as a priest of Denier, and he is happy there until he realizes that a denizen of the lower planes (Druzil! He cracks me up!) is trying to loose a magic on the world that will turn everything evil. Now he has to go save the world. He befriends some elves, a dwarf that wants to be a druid, and expounds on his relationship with the beautiful Danica, a priest. He is a pretty cool main character.
She is a beautiful priest/fighter at the Edificant Library that Cadderly is in love with. She has very cool magical prowess, she has the ability to make poison leech itself out of her, which I personally think is very cool. Danica is also deadly with her daggers, and is extremely self-disciplined. She fights calmly, not rashly, as most of her companions do, and her ultimate goal is to become like Grandmaster Penpahg D'Ahn, who is into meditation as a way of succeeding in combat.
A green-haired dwarf that wants to be a druid (doo-dad!). He doesn't talk much, except when he is saying that he wants to be a druid, which he says often, to the distaste of his brother, and when he says "me brother!", meaning his brother Ivan. He is the funniest character that I have ever seen in a book. Salvatore did an excellent job with this one!
A denizen of the lower planes that constantly plagues Cadderly and his friends as they try to stop the evil that is trying to come upon the Snowflake Mountains. He is pretty funny, and has an interesting disposition for an imp. He is constantlly muttering about Alabaster, his master, and also entertains thoughts of revenge on Alabaster by allowing Cadderly to escape Aballister's plans. A wonderful evil character, if you ask me.
He is a powerful wizard from Castle Trinity that is trying to loose a magic called "El Tanto Quiro Miquay" (i think) on the world. This magic, "The Most Fatal Horror", would allow evil to set foot on the world, and therefore, allow Aballister to dominate, as he would be in charge of the chaos. Aballister already wants to take over Carradoon and Shilmista, a human settlement and an elven forest. He is quite an interesting foe to Cadderly, though, as you will find out if you read the Quintet.
