Alias is your friendly neighborhood sell-sword who is actually an instrument of about five different groups, all who want someone to do their dirty work for them. Her memories were implanted in her head, she has no friends or family, except for this strange saurial that she finds in her room when she wakes up, supposedly from a night out drinking. Her arm has a strange blue tattoo on it, which cannot be struck by anything magical, or it will cause her and anyone else around extreme pain. Her mission is to find these people who have given her this tattoo and destroy them.
A saurial paladin who is destined to protect Alias. This is our friend Dragonbait, named because when Alias first found him in her room, her curse was something to the effect of "One false move and your dragonbait!". The name stuck, but we find out his real name and purpose as the books are read.
A halfling bard with a Harper pin. Olive masquerades as a "true" bard, although no halfling has ever gone to barding school, and certainly no halfling has a Harper pin!! She works for justice, I suppose, and she has a great sense of humor. Quick thinking usually, she has gotten herself and her friends out of peril more than once.
Giogi cracks me up in the first book, "Azure Bonds"! He keeps losing his horse in various ways. . . but anyways. He is a noble son of the Wyvernspur family, who met Alias when she attacked him after Giogi did an impression of King Azoun at his cousin's wedding. She had been "programmed" by the people who created her to assassinate the King. Giogi doesn't know this and sets off to help certain peoples to catch her, such as Alias's new enemy, the dragon Mist.
This is a huge red dragon known as "Mist" cause noone can really pronounce her name, except dragons. She is actually a very cool dragon, once you get past the "I'm going to have you for dinner" stage. She is a tad long-winded, and quick to anger, but once you get past the "dragon-ness", I suppose she is ok. . .
The Harpers have taken away his name and sentenced him off somewhere so that his songs shall never be heard in the Realms again. For crimes that he committed while trying to create a "vessel" that would perfectly store and repeat his songs on command. And that's all you get to know unless you read the books. ;)
