The Claw

The thieves guild known as the Claw has grown impresively in the last years, quickly becoming one of the main concerns of the kingdom officials (those that have not been bought, of course). At the present time, this guild has grown out of control, and even the militia has been unable to stop its illegal activities, which range from smuggling (its main activity) and protection rackets to kidnappings and murders of anyone that got too close for comfort.

Details about its structure and internal workings are vague at best, but it is believed that the entire operation is ruled by a single guildmaster known only as "Wolf", and there are several regional chapters and divisions according to specific activities supervised by a large group under the command of Wolf himself. Others believe that Wolf is only part of a larger group that acts as the guild's council, and yet others believe that this "Wolf" person is nothing but a rumor protecting a high ranking official.

As a matter of fact, Wolf does exist, but he is only a puppet to a rich and influential merchant who is the guild's true master, and the guild's structure is divided in regional chapters, each with a certain amount of independence from the others, and ruled by the central group under Wolf's orders (that is, under Lantier's orders).

Distinctives: High ranking members of the central guild and the regional bosses have to get a tatoo in the likes of a claw slash in their lower backs, forever identifying them as a member of the Claw.

Internal Laws: Punishments are very harsh, and any minor indiscretion can is severely dealt with, ranging from flaying to severing limbs according to the offense, and traitors are to be killed, tortured first if possible, it is not a pretty sight, for the usual way of killing a traitor is by slashing their abdomens, leaving their guts to spill on the floor.
