* While most players find it easier to start off with Bulbasaur or Squirtle, starting the game with Charmander is difficult but worthit later on.

2) How do I equip a TM or HM?
* First pause the game and select ITEM. Select the TM or HM you wish touse and select YES. Choose which Pokemon to assign an ability to. OnlyPokemon that are ABLE can use a specific machine.

3) Where is the Master Ball and is there more than one?
* There is only one Master Ball in the game and you receive on when you rescue the president of Silph Co.

4) How do I cut down the bushes?
* You must find the CUT HM (aboard the S.S. Anne) and have the Cascade badgeyou won from Misty. Equip a Pokemon with the HM (see above). Then face a bushand press Start. Select POKEMON and then the Pokemon with the ability. PressA to bring up a sub-screen and then select CUT. The bush will be cut down.

5) My Pokemon is ignoring orders!
* If your Pokemon is too high a level, it may ignore your commands. CertainTrainer Badges can control higher level Pokemon.

6) What does the Moon Stone do?
* It evolves certain Pokemonm, such as the Clefairy.

7) How do I get past the Saffron City Gate Guards?
* When the guards stop you, they will mention that they are thirsty.On the roof of the Celadon City Dept. Store, there are vending machinesthat dispense bottles of water. Give one of the guards a bottle and he willlet you pass. He will share the drink with his friends, so don't worry aboutbuying more water.

8) What does the Nugget do?
* All it's good for is cashing it in for a cool 5000$

9) Is Mew or Myuu in the game?
*It can be found using a Gameshark/Game Genie, but no real method has been proven yet.

10) Is there a place in the game I can find all three Start Pokemon?
*No, you must trade for them.

* Return to Route 9 and jump into the river to the north. Swim south until you see dry land leading to the Power Plant.

24) How do I get past the guards blocking the Card Key in Silph Co.?
* Nintendo didn't catch this little flub in the programming. To get the Card Keyon the fifth floor, you need to use your head a little. The path is blocked on bothsides by two guards. Go to the guard in the southwest and step on the Warp Tile near him.You will warp to the ninth floor. Step back on the tile, and face south as you do so. When you return to the fifth floor, step off the tile to the south and continue right to get the key.

25) Can you save more than 1 game to a cartridge?
* No

26) Where is the Pokeflute?
* In the Pokemon Tower in Lavender Town. You must free Mr. Fugifrom Team Rocket inside.

27) Does the game end after you get all 150 Pokemon?
* No, you get to keep playing and building levels.

28) Is there any way to restore a deleted game?
* Nope, once it's gone, it's gone.

*You need to rescue the president of Silph Co from Team Rocket, stationed in Saffron City.

38) Were in the world do I get the BICYCLE!?!
*First You need to get the bike voucher in Vermilion City. Look in all the houses until you find people siting at a table with there pokemon. Talk to the guy at the head of the table and he will give you the bike voucher. Take the voucher to Cerulean City and go to the bike shop. Talk to the guy at the counter and he will give you the bike.

39) How can I catch Articuno without wasting the masterball?
*Well, make sure you have plenty of "Ultra Balls" and a Pokemon with a Sleep Move. Aproch Articuno but dont yet fight him, SAVE the game. Now walk up to him and fight him, get his energy very low with out killing him and then put him to sleep, throw an Ultra ball 2 or 3 times at him until he is caught.
