ll from the start of the human race there have been fenomenons that our brains havnt been able to explain
. With the limited knowledge and the imaginative imagination that we bare the simplest way
to find answers to these unanswered questions is to imagine that you saw something else. For example,
fog and youre instiicts can together create an illusion, just illusions and beliefs is what
superstition is all about. There are no elfs living in the forests, no gremlins living under you, but still
its quite fascinating to think so. that is why the stories live on still today and that is the reason
to that the elfs today more than ever flourish in the light of celebrity. this index just presents some
things on this area that i sertanly think is worth writing about, but even these are just briefly
introduced, if this area is something that you really find interesting than its up
to you to find more information and continue the reserch. there is a wide spread of wich timeperiod is

ELDFOLKET:(The fire people): Eldfolket is a people that has been placed deep underground to forge precius metals to the volcanos. It is said that when the devil ride these flaming creatures forestfires often occurs.
FIRE: If the rats dissaphear from the house without any sane reason theres about to be a fire soon in the future.
FATA MORGANA(Fay Morgana): Acording to the tales this is the fairy that creates the many illusions in the Messina bay(Messina sundet). she is told to be stunningly beautiful and uses this to lure sailors into her trap. it is said that if you tuch her then you die.
GHOST: If you vissle in the dark och look behind youre back it is said that the ghosts get the power to haunt you
HAVSFRUN: Havsfrun is often referred to as the northernseas ruler, and was seen under mideveal times in Sweden as just that. She bears many simularities vith mermaids, but she was ten times more beautiful and twice as deadly. there was often said that the fishermen had a special relationship to this femme fatal, and many is the men that have been dragged inte the depths of the oceans by her. but she was not all evil or dangerous, she could often guide ships thrue bad weather, save lost sailors and such as long as the gift to her was well ment. the people backthen also thought that the fog over the beaches and over the oceans where havsfrun hanging up her laundry.
HOUSES1: When a New house was to be built in scandinavia, people generally where very superstitius about where it was going to stand. They thought that the Elf(vittror) lived under the hills and therefore did not want to build a house on top of theirs, because people in general would be most irritated if such a thing should occur. Therefor a test was customary to se if there lived any elf under the hill. One test often practised in northern Sweden was to dig three holes in the ground that the house was to stand on. The holes was to be dug before a big rainstorm, and after it was over than it was to inspekted rapidly. the thing was that the suitability for the ground was based on how fast the rainwater in the holes was sucked up by the ground. If there was a quick drainage than the elfs roof on this place would be leaking and there would propably not be any elfs living there. If the earth took long time in sucking up the water on the other hand, then it would mean that elfs very well could be living there and it was therefor not consdiered as a suitable place for a house.
K�RRFRUN(the marchlady): This female creature is one of the few generally good beings in scandinavian superstition. During foggy days i marchlike areas she was said tog brew beer underground so that the smoke from the potts cane upp as fog in the upperground. there is no documentation of eny meeting or eny stories about meeting her personaly, but she is known to sometimes help lost humans to find out of the fog.
LYKTGUBBEN: A little male being that used to be a human. but on the time when he lived he moved his fence into his neighbors land and claimed it for his own. Now after life he is trying to repent his crime moving the poles back, wich is not so simple because he no longer has a body.
MARA (Mare):A being solely of femail gender that was said to force herself into humans dreams and ride em so they get nightmares mara in english is just Mare and if you know that then the heretage of the word night mares is a simple thing to understand. Maran used to sneak in thrue small entraces in the form of a cat into the victims house.
PUKE: Witches and other dark humans could create a simple servant called Puke. A Puk was made out of nine different pieces of leather and cloth. to create this odd thing you should go to a crossroad under midnight and cut youreself in the left ringfinger. After that you should say. "Now you should gold and silver to me carry,that i hold so dearly. for all you stand to win i will burn in hell". The Puke was said to steal silver and gold to its owner during the night, a man that owned a Puke was always promised great riches.
The legend goes that the rainbow flooded down water to the underground to prevent that the devils fire or his evil spawn should come up to the surface. Another goal for the water was to refill the earth with heavenly water. It was also seen as luck if the rainbow tuched a newbornbaby.
SPELLS:To get the man of her dreams all a virgin woman need to do is sit naked on her bed during midsummer with a glas of water beside her. Aparently the man is suppose to come in and drink of the water.

TO KILL AN ENEMY BY MUTILATION: if you wanted to kill someone in the ol days you could do the following: after swearing of youre familyname you take a new knife and cut three times on a branch during the morning. While cutting youre suppose to say "I cut this branch to mutilate and kill my enemy in the trinitys,the father, the son and the holy ghostsname and with the power of Nebyros, Aypenos, Nuberos and Gla Yalabolas". After that you take the branch home. And after that you start makin a figure lookin like the person you want to kill in this persons planethour, and finishes the work by carving in the persons birthname in the figure. Then you wait till its night and then return to the figure and put it between two candles. with the branch in youre right arm you then touch the figure and say. "I mutilate you in the trinitys name, Nyberos, Gla yalabolas, Aroe, Baroe, Betu, Bretu". the man is said to die when this procedure has been repeated three times itat same year.
THUNDER:The lightning is said to be a burning spear that god throws down on the trolls.
TROLLSTONES:In sweden there is a old legend that the trolls that roamed the forests turned into stone by the first sunlight, if they where not back in the underground that is. These inprisoned Trolls, often took the form or either stones or stumps. the only time of year that the could be released from this spell was the 13th of december, but if the troll was lucky then there was another way. Thing was that if a human sat on these trollstumps or stones. the troll vas automaticly released.
WEDDING: To prevent that evil powers or maybe a irritated competitor to to the bride, puts a spell over the weddingbed, its customery that a respekted member of society makes the bed.
