So, Thinking of Making of your own Role-Playing game? Well here are some steps
you should take when doing so.
- STEP ONE- Think of a
time and setting for your RPG. Midevil? Futuristic? Or a Final Fantasy like
setting with a little of future and Midevil. Could even be modern.
- STEP TWO- Once you
have a setting for your RPG, Think of the classes and types of characters you will have.
Below is a table of classes for each time period You can variate off this
table, because it is just an example:
| Midevil Time Period
|

|
Both Time Periods
|
| Assasian |

| Warrior |

- STPE THREE- Now that
you have classes and a time period, think of what races are avalable to play.
Dwarves, Elves, Human, Hal-Elf, Half-Esper ect... Also think what races can have
what class and their restrictions.
- STEP FOUR- Now think
of Weapons, armor and Items that players can buy throught the game. You can also use
a FF7 like system and make it so a certian class can only use a certain weapon.
- STEP FIVE- Think of
any other rules that will be used. A Hit Point System, How is a target
"hit", how does this happen ect...
- STEP SIX- Now it is
time to design a world. Irnoy Games has some
Great RPG Tools for this so I suggest you take a look there. Layout terreins,
contenents, towns, sites of interest ect... and you could expand and make a star
map. Like I said Irony Games has plenty of tools for RPG-making. Also think of
a history for your world. There are many different approaches to doing this.
- STEP SEVEN- Plan
your first Adventure. Include NPC's. (Non Player Characters). See how it
goes. Make changes to your RPG as needed. Perfect it.
