A Little Bit of the Mundane

"The Mundane" or "Mun" is what on-line role-players call the person sitting at the keyboard typing out the actions of the character they are playing. I decided to take this small space here and tell a little about the mun.

NAME: Mylia

OTHER NAMES KNOWN BY: Cat, Shadowcat, Psylocke (Yep, I'm an X-Men fan), Kirynii, Koska, Embercat, Calen, Nicara

AGE: 25 (Heh, I've reached the quarter century mark.  But, thanks to Miss Clairol, I'll never have gray hair)

HAIR: Red, middle of the back---except when it gets died pink....or purple...or black...To the dismay of many people that care about me I have just recently cut my hair.  It now rests above my shoulders and frames my face.  You wouldn't believe the fallout I recieved about it.

EYES: Blue-gray

HEIGHT: 5'7"

HOBBIES: writing fiction and poetry; role playing games; singing. My stories are usually filled with the things that fascinate me the most: vampires and werewolves. and elves; I am currently involved in a round-robin writers elf holt with some people who have become very dear friends to me (hello ladies). And I have now started taking part in an e-mail VtM game and a Vampire Round Robin writing group.

FAVORITE MUSIC:I love listening to Broadway musicals, especially when I am writing.  My favorite is "Phantom of the Opera".  This is followed closely by "Cats", "Les Miserables", "Evita", and "Jesus Christ Superstar".  Any gothic type music, but I do give every music at least a chance---except those songs full of almost nothing but whiners. Whiners are not artists and their music is not song. It is whining set to music.

FAVORITE GROUPS: Concrete Blonde, Type O Negative, House Of Lords, Dead Can Dance, Shakespear's Sister, Kiss, Eagles, Genesis

FAVORITE FOOD: Mexican and Orange Chicken from Panda Express

FAVORITE SPORT: It isn't played on a field or in a gym

FAVORITE ANIMAL: I love all animals and have been called an animal rights activist many times. However, my favorite two animals are the panther and the wolf. Those are closely followed by lions, tigers, cheetahs...etc.

FAVORITE AUTHORS: William Shakespeare (you can never go wrong with a classic); Richard and Wendy Pini (ElfQuest, duh) Christopher Pike; Anne Rice (there's a big surprise); Michael Crichton; John Grisham; Anne McCaffrey; Elizabeth Barret Browning; Robert Frost; Maxwell Anderson; Michele Hauf (Hi Michele); L.J. Smith;

OCCUPATION: I was working as a computer data entry and file clerk through a government agency while raising my  daughter Cheyenne. Being a single mom has been quite the challenge...and she is a full time job in and of itself. She is doing the terrible two stage a wee bit early. (I swear she MUST have some fae in her somewhere) She is still my delight however---hrmmm...I wonder if I can get tested for that. (The child's Aunt Tiffy-Fae snickers).  However, now I work at home from our computer so I can spend more quality time with my daughter.  I write at home and that guarantees that Cheyenne doesn't have to grow up in a daycare.  My days and nights are now filled with Cheyenne, writing, playing in tabletop games, playing in IRC RPing channels, chasing my two pups, Ares and Loki, and spending time with mi aruin.  I have been through a lot of crap in the past year and a half, but I am still alive and kicking and a stronger person in spite of it all.

T.V. SHOWS:  Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Charmed, Stargate SG-1, South Park, Hercules, Xena

FAVORITE MOVIES: I have worked at two of the largest video store chains...what do you want me to say? Actually, I like MOST vampire movies. I like science fiction, supernatural and some horror. My favorite movies currently are:

The Prophecy and The Prophecy II: Christopher Walken as the arch angel Gabriel. Can't go wrong with that.

Titanic: I absolutely adored this movie and I think Kate Winslett did a great job.  I have always been fascinated by the story of the Titanic and I like this movie because it made you "feel" for the people that this tragedy happened to.  They were real people and not just background players in a show about a boat.

The Man in the Iron Mask: Gotta love those men in tight tights and pants.  Actually, I really enjoyed the costumes in this movie.  I participate in the Arizona Renaissance Festival (See guys shameless plugging from Mylia) and I have always loved the costumes of those long ago eras and would love to be able to wear those sort of things...well except for the corsets.  For any of you that have never worn corsets, thank your lucky stars.  They are damned uncomfortable.

The Craft: *snicker*

Independence Day: Gotta love Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum.

Heathers: "Dear Diary---It's God verseus my boyfriend...and God's losing...."

And ANY Monty Python movie.
