2. JOEL HENERY2 COSPER (GEORGE HENRY1) was born March 30, 1809 in Edgefield Dist. South Carolina, and died October 11, 1887 in Bell Co., Texas. He married (1) MILLIE ELIZA BAGBY. He married (2) MARY ANN GILMORE.

Buried in Live Oak Cemetery, 3 miles north of Youngsport, Bell Co., Texas. First buried in the Cosper Family Cemetary on his old homestead, but was later moved.
Methodist minister, farmer, large land and slave owner in Alabama before coming to Texas, Justce of the Peace, Private in Captain Germany's Company, Georgia Volunteers, Florida War and was granted 40 acres of land by the U.S. Government for military services in this war on 28 of September 1850. Land near Labnon; Randolph County Alabama.
Methodist Episcopal Church, south 1858 Alabama Conference, Local preacher elected and ordained elder. Confederate Soldier - muster roll dates 17 November 1864 of Captain Larkin Breed's Company F, Randolph County Militia - 1st Lieutenant - mounted infantry for Colonel Falkner's battalion.
