Foreword

It has been almost a year since Kingdoms End made its first appearance on-line. Simply beginning as a bunch of information haphazardly thrown together and published in some semblance of order to the immense work that it is rapidly becoming a favorite among gamers. Many of the things that this site was supposed to accomplish didn’t happen quite as well as it should have. The updates to the rules were the most popular feature, but the setting itself was lacking.

This was due mainly in part to the fact that the only information that we have is in binders, notebooks, and scraps of paper that have been collected over the past couple of years. Most of this information was taken from early manuscripts of unpublished stories, old notes, and ideas adopted from all sorts of locations.

People wanted more information on the land itself not only the types of characters that walk there. They also wanted to know how it converted to Dungeons and Dragons and if so, how do you go about making a Sae Darrin knight anyway? How do psionics work? Why are women the only ones who can become Marseal? Questions have been coming in regularly for a long time and now, we are proud to offer this updated site.

Before I get down to the actual introduction of the new Kingdoms End, I have to tell you: this is not complete. It is, however, thorough. The stories of Kingdoms End continue to grow and change the face of the land, so it will most likely never be complete, but it will always be thorough. As characters grow and stories are told, the setting will evolve and change and when it does, it will be added to this site. So without further adieu, I present to you Kingdoms End!

As you may know already, TSR is in the process of revising their Dungeons and Dragons role-playing system.  Right now, any rules that you may find on this site pointing to that system is for use with the Second Edition rules.  Once the new edition is release, if it is deemed appropriate the information will be updated to accomodate the changes.  Please visit often in order to see what is happening with the revisions.

Organization
The site has been broken down into five different sections. The most important sections are not specific to any system of role-playing they are merely references containing all the vital information you need in order to play a character in this fantasy world.

The Seven Kingdoms details the main nations within Vallinor giving geography, economics, politics, important cities, and other details specific and important to each Kingdom. In addition to this is all the information you need in order to create characters specifically for this setting.

Secondly, Masters Guide contains specific details designed for the Game/Dungeon Master that should help to create campaigns and adventures that add a unique flavor to your game sessions. Here you will find information on Deities, magic, and psionics as well as brief introductions to some key figures in Vallinor.

Once you have gotten a fairly good understanding of how Kingdoms End is structured and the opportunities that lie in them, you are ready to adapt it to your role-playing system. The Palladium Players Guide contains most of the O.C.C.s™ that you will encounter and can play in Kingdoms End and also contains rules that modify the current system including optional rules for initiative and ranged combat. It also has a list of all the skills and their percentages presented in the Palladium Fantasy Role-Playing Game 2nd Edition. In order to play using this system, you will need a copy of the Palladium Fantasy Role-Playing Game and the Monsters and Animals™ sourcebook.

The Advanced Dungeons and Dragons Players Guide contains descriptions of character classes and various kits that can be taken. It also contains a summary of the psionic system that was originally developed for the Dark Sun campaign setting. In order to play using the AD&D system, you will need to have a copy of the Players Handbook and it is recommended that you also have available the Skills and Powers Players Option book and the Complete Psionics Handbook. You will only need the Players Handbook, the Dungeon Masters Guide, and Monstrous Manual.
