Warriors are the generic fighters in Vallinor. They can use any weapon (including the longbow), wear any armor, and have the widest variety of options open to them. Most warriors begin as common mercenaries, taking money in exchange for a strong sword arm, but not all of them remain in that profession. Those who do usually join a merc unit or form one of their own, in fact mercenaries are the most common of all the groups in Vallinor!
Those who do not wish to become full-fledged mercenaries, can petition for entrance into the Sae Darrin knighthood, turn to archery, thievery, or even become a paladin! They usually do not have very many skills when they start out, but often end up being the most powerful of all the men of arms.
In game terms, creating a warrior is the same as creating a mercenary in the Palladium system with no changes. Alhtough warriors can use longbows, they do not get the bonuses of an archer.
Once a warrior reaches third level, the character can go into any of the other men of arms classes. By doing this, he retains all the skills and abilities that he/she had as a warrior, gains all the other skills granted by the class they enter, and advance as that new class. They begin the new class as a first level character and must accumulate the new experience accordingly to advance levels. No skills are put on hold when this change takes place. In addition to this, if the warrior chooses to go into any of the rogue classes, the weapon and armor modifications apply. Changing back to a warrior is not possible.
